Britomart Train Station
A bit underwhelming given the renovation took so long. There are a few shops inside the station.

Though much of the rail network is under repair it is a great hub of activity not just transport.Plenty of places to eat, and if want to take a load off, or people watch, the historical building is a grand place to do it.Part of the overall precinct you'll find it sitting in the middle of the Britomart Precinct it's easy to find...just look up. Steps away from Commercial Bay Mall, Ferry Terminal, The Cloud, Shed 10, Princess Wharf, Waterfront and water, Britomart is the connector you need to meet people or as part of your planning point when exploring the CBD.

Busy train station although lately the trains are not running over some weekends or non peak hours. The historic building is beautiful.

What a beautiful maintenance and renovation! With its earlier history as national post office the building talks its own story. You can easily foresee there will be more and more events happening here and the great foyer or we can say square.

Britomart Transport Centre is a very well designed structure and modernistic architecture layout. Now is still under heavy expansion but, passengers are not hindered in any way.The Britomart Transport Centre Britomart Transport Centre is well-lighted, direction signages are well placed and visible.Britomart Transport Centre is the public transport hub in the central business district of Auckland, New Zealand, and the northern terminus of the North Island Main Trunk railway line. It combines a railway station in a former Edwardian post office, extended with expansive post-modernist architectural elements, with a bus interchange. It is at the foot of Queen Street, the main commercial thoroughfare of Auckland city centre, with the main ferry terminal just across Quay Street. The centre was the result of many design iterations, some of them being substantially larger and including an underground bus terminal and a large underground car park. Political concerns and cost implications meant that those concepts did not proceed. However, at the time of its inception in the early 2000s the centre was still Auckland's largest transport project ever, built to move rail access closer to the city's CBD and help boost Auckland's low usage of public transport. It is one of the few underground railway stations in the world designed for use by diesel trains.[2]Initially seen as underused and too costly, it is now considered a great success, heading for capacity with the growing uptake of rail commuting. Limitations on further patronage are primarily due to the access tunnel from the east which provides only two rail tracks, and the lack of a through connection via a rail link to the North Shore or to the Western line via an underground tunnel, which would change it into a through station. A tunnel to the Western Line is now under construction, as part of the City Rail Link project.

This is an easy and well made train station. You can easily get to your place in a few minutes and while waiting you can have fun with the glass ceiling that can be found on the street side! Is so trippy and fun and you can wave at the people that are below you. The station looks incredible at night and is very good to photograph ^_^

The train was on time, and the information was clear. The train station entry is not signaled from the main square. The ticketing system with the physical AT Hop card is very limiting for tourists. It would be easier if a virtual card could be integrated into the application.
