Quick responses, very friendly staff. The cars were cleaned. I got a nice 2016 rav 4 for a good price tidy inside and out. Online check in was great, make sure you read it carefully as it includes the bond options! The place is on a gravel lot but the friendly staff will help you with your luggage which was awesome.

Excellent service, picked up from airport promptly when we arrived on 9th Feb. Toyota Corolla ready to go when we got to Mode, ran through everything seamlessly, car clean and fuelled up, great condition and exactly what we wanted for our 10 day road trip around the top of the SI. No issues with vehicle, easy to drive, economical, never missed a beat. We contacted Mode to get an add on driver (husband) and Ryan took care of that for us, no fuss, very efficient. The staff were all very friendly and interactive, easy to deal with. The car was checked out immediately and we were advised that our bond released, no problems. Thank you and no hesitation recommending Mode for anyone looking for Car Rental. Unreliable with regards to after hours return!We had arranged for a 6.30am return as we had an 8am flight to catch. However, there was no one present when we showed up to drop off our car and it was distressing as we had a flight to catch and no one was responding to the phone number given since it was after hours. Only at 7am did someone pick up the call and help us with the drop off of our car. We almost missed our flight!I will recommend sticking to the rentals present in the airport if you intend to return the car outside of work hours. Plus, we had to pay more money for this service. Very dissapointing2 stars as the car itself was fine and they did drive us to the airport after.

The best car rental we have ever booked. We had rented a car from Germany from Christchurch to Auckland. We did not know at the time that the ferry between the south and north does not run. The car rental company Mode" has researched everything for us and rebooked for us. We were also not easy customers. Have constantly changed our mind about the route. First we had considered the car then again in christchurch to hand over and to fly to wellington and from there renting a new car. Then we had decided otherwise and wanted to stay in the south of New Zealand and only rent from Christchurch. So they had to cancell Wellington again.Ryan our contact was always totally helpful and really friendly and has considered our wishes all.Thank you for the great service!!!! Rented car with mode during our recent trip, everything went well. VERY competitive pricing, shuttle from airport was quick, seamless pick up and drop off process. The entire mode Christchurch team was extremely friendly. Most importantly the car was in good working condition!Definitely a must to rent a car in NZ to fully experience the beauty of the country.

Mode wanted $3,500 in cash/credit card to hold for the excess bond if I had an accident. I have never ever had to provide that. I refused and they drove me back to the airport which was nice of them. I then found out that they blacklisted my debit card with other car rental companies - such a low, dirty move. I would never ever go with this lot again and if I could give less than one star, I would. Ezi Rentals were fantastic!

Great people to deal with at ChCh branch, and everything was straight forward including after hours shuttle from the airport. Also the Rav4 we had for our week in the South Island was the perfect vehicle for the 4 of us.Will definitely use again. Cheers Steve

Competitive rates and pick up/drop off of the car was easy and quick. Airport shuttle was provided and just a short 5mins drive away.The Rav4 provided was spacious and had a huge boot space.
