Wakatu Hotel

Well! The room is like a closet, there was no TV, no jug, not even a bar of soap and a bed so spongy that it leaves u stuffed by the morning with one rubbish pillow, and then the surprise disco underneath banging away until 2 or 3 in the morning with drunkards shouting all night, overall it seems like a government paid hotel for the homeless with a run down tired pub come nightclub , we survived and would only stay again if there was nothing left on the planet, we left at first light the next day

We had the worst experience ever at this hotel. Checked in at this hotel and after 5 minutes after checking in, our wallet got stolen from our room and the manager tried to point finger on us rather than helping us. Such a rude manager and staff. We had the worst experience and never recommend this place to anyone. The rooms weren't clean properly either.Poor hospitality overall. We ended up leaving this hotel on same day and had to find another one which was hard but worth.

Amazing, right? My mate had left town and I was going to look after his truck for the time being, but it needed welding. So after I'd got that done, and I took it back through the AA with the warrant failure, on the way to work, I was heading home again. Now I don't normally drive, right? More the bicycle guy, but this time, I'm on the street, I see my buddy! Not the truck owner, cause he's left town. The other one. Yeah I got two friends! Or I did until one left town. But there he is, the remaining one, heading into the pub! Now I'm off overseas myself soon enough, so good opportunity to say goodbye, I pull over and head in to join him. Couple of cheap jugs, jobs a good'n!

Good service and decent pint size. Small area inside but I didn't scope out back. The smell is a little off and could do with a spruce up but it's got that old school pub hue to it as is I suppose - not really the way forward but lets see what nee management can do!

Last time I rated this hotel with 2 stars, but this time service is significantly improved so I would like to rate this experience with maximum 5 stars. Room with 2 single beds and private bathroom for $65 only!

A bit old school but a nice place if you are in a group and would like a few beers and a talk in relative peace.

Went for lunch waited at bar, was told be there in a minute asked for lunch menu was given it and team member just walked away, we intended on buying a drink but weren't even given the chance to order, no one else was there, waited, read menu and no other service came so we walked out asounded.Very poor service overall disappointing

Didn’t go to the bar but stayed in a room upstairs. Nothing special. Slightly expensive for what you get. Good location near downtown Nelson though.

If I say very positively, it's historical old hotel.Otherwise just a few car park space, smelly room, bathroom and kitchen area. Various room has different smells. Lol. Need improvement.Staff was kind though.
