Strong nostalgia here, ie it's out of date in every respect. Has been dying for 17 years, like the Mall itself. Poor quality fresh produce. I never buy fresh stuff here. Costs are not as low as the state of semi dereliction and general neglect might suggest. Awful music, currently irritating, premature Christmas tunes.....7 weeks before the holidays??? Bland, robotic staff. Nauseating, repetitive female voice at self checkout. Turn the voice OFF. Ugly, stale old staff uniforms. Older, long term staff (lifers) are like a witches' coven of moody, grey smokers. Apparently they treat new staff with the same disdain as customers. A good idea to keep them away from customers. This is probably the worst service shoppers can find in the greater Wellington region. Time for a huge shake up.

Relatively small Countdown but it has many items I need for daily basis.I love the fact that they always have fresh bread, including ciabatta and sourdough, my kids favorites. They alsa have fresh food and veggies, home-brand items which are cheaper, and various meat, including fish. Personal care products and medicines as well as vitamins are also well stocked. They always have special prices items.The store is clean and easy to navigate with clear signs. The staff are helpful as well and the check out is no hussle.Happy to go back here.

Great local countdown with a fantastic selection.Generally a few bargins to be had and always some brilliant offers on!Love the bakery selection ... can't beat fresh bread!

I was looking for two specific things - a hair brush and hair ties. I couldn't find them so I asked a staff member. Their reply we don't stock those anymore - if you need them you will need to go to New World next door".Fruit is usually not the greatest quality - we get it online now or from New World (dearer but consistently nicer)."

Have all the grocery items and prices are also reasonable. Staff is very cooperative and courteous.

The range is small due to the small size of the mall. However, the staff always give great customer service! From the time to my car broke down when I was on my way to collect a click and collect order, to today when I bought the wrong bulbs and needed to swap them for the right ones, the staff have always been very understanding and helpful.
