If the food service is as quick as the bar I wouldn't try here if you're hungry. Not especially busy but serverely lacking in effeciency behind the bar. After ordering a mimosa which wasn't measured out (which I'm not sure you're supposed to guess the amount of alcohol that's in a drink given the host responsibility act or weights and measures act) I don't think I'll return here again a hurry.

The view never gets boring. The beach is spacious, close to shops and cafes and has a playground. You can walk for an hour, swim or watch the boat ramp. My favourite Auckland beach.

The restaurant is spacious, so you don't feel cramped or crowded, even when it's busy.The prices at Takapuna Beach Restaurant are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the atmosphere. The menu is varied, with plenty of options for meat-eaters, vegetarians, and seafood lovers. I ordered a steak and was delighted to find that it was cooked to perfection - juicy, tender and full of flavor. The sides that came with it were also delicious, and the portion sizes were generous.The staff at Takapuna Beach Restaurant were amazing - they were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. Great place to get something to eat and drink. Unfortunately under staffed when we went and had to wait a while to get our meals.Beautiful food and friendly staff did really well considering staff shortage.

Pretty disgusted with the service. The waitress was friendly but we ordered a simple two cocktails and fries; the cocktails took 15 minutes where there was only 3 tables of customers and the fries never came. When we went to ask the bartender he simply charged for the cocktails and mumbled sorry while charging us full price. Understand mistakes happen but very poorly dealt with. Would not recommend.

Fantastic location right on the best beach in Auckland. Easy parking right next door.Just love Tokyo Bay Japanese Restaurant.Food and service was fantastic! This is the best Japanese Restaurant I have been to in New Zealand.
