Countdown Mt Eden

This Countdown is the best. Much nicer feel in-store than your average supermarket, and what really sets this store apart from the rest is it’s 6am opening time (7am is standard for Countdowns). I find this is the best time for me to shop as I can do it before work and there’s no one around!Hamish DorringtonKakapo Business Sales

Pros1. Soft plastic recycling bin at exit2. Good soft drink deals ($1.50 for 1.25L bottle)Cons1. The signs say No begging, but often there are beggars asking for spare change.2. The carpark warning sign shown does not state it is a reserved parking lot.

The nicest staff member today (called Erech I believe, according to his name tag) offered to pack our bags and was friendly and efficient in his service. I really appreciated his polite and friendly demeanor!

Placed an express pick up two hours ago.Pickup @8:36pm.- No bill is generated yet, not marked ready, yet they gave me the order.- Which probably cause this issue, half my items are missing, no bread, no toilet paper, literally 10+ items are missing.Possibly forgot a bag due to a lack of quality control. Surely y'all have toilet paper.Just a very disappointing experience all in all, pay extra for the express pick up and they forget more than half the items. Sigh.

the cafe was closed but the photo I took they left the muffins and sausage rolls out, you cannot leave sausage rolls out uncovered at room temp overnight your going to make someone sick or kill them same with muffins how hard is it to put it in a container and label it? What else do they do in terms of breathing food safety laws

honestly ridiculous service both in store and online shopping.Every-time I do click and collect I use the text they send to say i am on my way. i then select the bay i am in. wait 10 minutes and still nothing. eventually go up to the door and ring the buzzer and all you can hear is people laughing and giggling. like I get having fun at work but seriously? i do click and collect for the quick and easy grocery shop. BUT NO every-time i click and collect from this store, KEEPING IN MIND ITS EXPENSIVE compared to other grocery stores, i always have to wait. what is the point of sending the text and getting customers to do the I am on the way" or "I am in this bay" if you aren't even going to follow it and make use of it. honestly ridiculous.then in store- i ran in to get some gluten free wraps only to find disgusting mouldy ones ON THE SHELF. when approached to someone at the check out. totally dismissive and just throw the wraps to someone behind a counter.staff are always so so rude. declined card at self check-out? they make a big issue with it as if you are inconveniencing them. Self check out flashing red? again an inconvenience for them. leaving your basket at self-check out? again an inconvenience for them.Honestly

4 stars just for the close time of 11pm. Other stores are 10pm. Is suitable for me if doing shift work and finish late but no real person available at the checkout around 11pm ridiculous! lost one star for that!

This is a nicely fitted out supermarket. Great selection of food and products. Service I had was friendly. Plenty of free car parking. Also has a lotto store cafe and pharmacy -I didn't use these. Nothing to complain about except the exorbitant cost but that's the norm at all supermarkets.

Outstanding vegetables and fruits. Even better selection of cheeses including the spectacular and awards winning special brand Over the Moon. This is a good supermarket.From 1 January 2019 this store will need to address how people with mobile shopping trolleys can use the self service facility to utilize this way of shopping. Not everyone wants to carry a heavy bag. I pointed this out to 2 staff members and they noted they'll discuss their service improvement to ensure that this can occur. It'd be great if this was the first Countdown in Auckland to effect this improvement.

Quite gross – birds inside,...Also very anti-intuitive – some cheese is at the vegeratbles and other cheese is across the whole space, on the other side of the store. Same with sausages and hams. Then you have some food, then you have an isle of batteries (which I spent half an hour looking for around the checkier counters where some other batteries are and at the very end of the store where hardware is) and then you have isles with other food again. Lol and all the food isles are split by a pharmacy.The one who designed the layout should be treated for schisophrenia.
