We went in early summer. Lots of people there. The walk was easy and pleasant. It is out in the Open be prepared with sunblock and a windbreaker. The track is well defined and well maintained. As we approached the large karst formations there was a real sense of entering another world. Quite magical. A real mix of people of all ages...young families, over 60s, fit young things couples, singles. Plenty of signage rehistory of the area. Dramatic views all around.

Awesome area to explore the limestone rock formations and go for a walk or do some bouldering or climbing. The loop track takes about 30-40 minutes to complete however you can easily take longer and go exploring the many nooks and crannies in the rock formations. The carpark is large and has two long drop toilets.

A Good and ease hiking trail with a reward of view , education, and artefacts in the journey. Prepare for more time so can take in the view , a cuppa of coffee ( BYOC- bring your own coffee) and instantgramable moments. Enjoy the trais....

One of my favorite places in the world... take a nice and easy track up the rocks or make your own way up, love the new picnic area there with its information about the history and culture of the site!!!!! I have to stop when ever I'm driving past.

Castle Hill is a quick drive from Christchurch. We had a nice easy hike with the kids (two and four years old). The rock formations are neat, and the views are spectacular.

Awesome experience, amazing views all the way through and also up the top. It looked so unique and different when compared to the surrounding landscape. Easy to moderate walk up to the Castle Hill Conservation Area, depending on individual’s fitness level. I personally enjoyed the whole experience. Tip - Definitely take a bottle of water, snack bars or protein bars/biscuits with you and please please please don’t litter the place with rubbish. Thanks!

Beautiful scenery around. A bit crowded when we arrived here and some people sit on the ground as if on picnic, made it less interesting. So we just took pictures and left immediately.

A nature park and playground at the same time! It was busy at the carpark but all visitors disappear in the landscape. From easy walks to rock climbing, all is possible.
