About the Business
Playhouse Theatre - Home of Dunedin Repertory Society Inc | The Playhouse Theatre is Dunedin’s little theatre with a big heart. It is home to the Dunedin Repertory Society, which has been staging quality amateur productions for over 75 years. We present a children’s theatre production every school holidays, as well as an intriguing mix of adult’s theatre each year. We are also proud to host other productions and festivals in our theatre. We are currently working towards a refurbishment of our theatre. You can find information about all this and more on this website. We look forward to welcoming you at the Playhouse soon!

The Playhouse Theatre
Mousetrap was a great show, get along if you can. Theatre is showing her age, but staff were great, able take glass wine to your seat. Loved the mousetrap offering at the interval.

The Playhouse Theatre
Took grandchildren to Alice in Wonderland. It was fun, fast moving. At the end they invited the children to come on the stage and meet them .

We went to The Princess and the Pea and it was great. About ~1.5hrs including intermission. Pea song was a highlight for Miss 6

Very cool little retro theater. Went to a burlesque show here. Drinks were cheap, entertainment was good, bathroom facilities were good. Only thing was the rows of seats were so close together it made it impossible to go to the bathroom or get refreshments during the show without disrupting everyone in the row! But would not stop me going again!

Always great entertainment for young children. Very professionally presented. I've not missed one in 18 years. Grandkids love it.

The Hunting of the Snark - always loved the poem and took the grandsons and was mightily impressed with how Diane Dupres realised it as a musical -really great.The large young cast was also great - a really impressive effort !

What a wonderful evening! Such a cute setting. And absolute treasure of Dunedin performance theatre. Tight squeeze into the seats but makes for a very intimate and engaging experience.
