Had a large booking and they allowed us to split the bill so that was great. The food was good thou the seafood chowder needed more seafood in it. The staff were awesome very friendly, accommodating and helpful.

Only my experience but food was average. Chef dependant i guess. Half cooked chips and average burger. Service is weird, no one seems to know whats going on, getting passed around a bit and looking lost. Its early days and new staff so i guess it will get better. Needs a shake up! Nice ambience in there!! Has a real vibe once you get seated and served

We eat with a big group, atmosphere is great. Very cool design. Food looks amazing, and big quantities. The chowder is massive!However we find the taste of the food it’s average. I ordered beef schnitzel, the meat is not as fresh, taste sour, so a bit weird.I also got a milk shake which I feel very light.

Really love supporting anything local. It's great to see a lovely new place with a great look and enthusiastic staff. However I was disappointed with the food. It's very basic with very little technique. It felt like something I would throw together from a bargain box meal delivery kit.I realize times are tough and costs are on the rise. But there are other places around that have a similar type menu that do a better job and make it look and taste on par with the price.

Delicious burgers. My opinion is chips should be part of the burger meal, you don't get alot for the extra cost. Had a nice roast vege salad. Atmosphere humming, can be very loud when full house though. Fab service all round.

Burger with chips was enough to fill me up! They have a fun menu which is a bit unusual in Nelson. Really nice staff, nice service and good wait times. Great atmosphere too.

I've been very excitedly watching the building progress of Joe's Garage and waiting for it to open! I was not disappointed! Great food and such a cool atmosphere. The staff were helpful and welcoming when we were ordering. The meals took quite awhile to come but that was understandable for such a busy place that has only just opened.The food was high quality and delicious! Staff were happy to explain the menu and helpful in choosing what to eat. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a good meal in a very cool setting. So great to finally have Joe's Garage!

I was excited to dine at the new Joe's Garage Tasman having been to the 2 branch's in Chch. Upon arrival there were 2 staff chatting at the service desk just inside, I waited for a minute to be greeted as that didn't happen I walk past them and grabbed my own menu and seated myself, perusing the menu I asked a server about having a poached egg on the caesar salad and was told we only fry or scramble " I mean caesar always come with a poached egg and what if I can't eat fried or scrambled? Anyway I ordered a roast vege salad and spiced chai latte
