Bealey Hotel

We recently stayed at the Bealey Hotel in the spa room and it was perfect. We enjoyed being able to wander up to the hotel to have dinner and drinks and roll back down the hill to our accommodation. The food was yummy and can highly reccommend the lava cake for dessert. The spa was clean and it was magic being able to hop in and look at the stars and the moonlight on the river.

From the moment we walked in to the hotel receiption, L.T welcomed us with a smile and humbly asked for our patience, which we had no problem waiting for. And the wait was only a couple of minutes at most before we were assisted so it was definitely one of the shortest waits we've ever had. The entire check-in process, to the dinner, brunch service and check-out were excellent. Our bed was comfy, the hotel room was spacious and had what we needed, and very clean. The views were amazing from the room and all around the property. It felt like an oasis and so close to Castle Hill, this is a must stop-over, stay a night or many more, take in the scenery, do more road trips and outdoor activities, and at the end of the day have a lovely meal prepared by master chef, Kirsty Hawkes. My partner and I continue to talk about the amazing lamb dinner Kirsty prepared for us, and then we got the chance to chat with her during a tasty brunch. She was very nice and we had great conversation. We can see ourselves going back to NZ just to stay and experience their wonderful hospitality again!

Stayed a night and had a dinner there (main + dessert). Limited choices but the food here was one of the best I’ve had in New Zealand in my 2 weeks here.Room was great too. Had a good view + Netflix. Can’t go wrong there

Was a lovely lunch, with family, children roasted marshmallows on outside fire...service was awesome and even dog friendly for outside..

POP for a couple nightsGreat location and views. Dinner was very good. Venison ribs! Highly recommended - delicious.Short on staff as everywhere in NZ but managed well. Friendly and caring.

Location was excellent we attended my grandmothers 86th birthday here and it was a perfect spot to meet family from the coast and Canterbury region.The service from the staff was a bit poor, we felt pushed to order our meals, and the attitude from the staff when delivering our meal was a bit rude even tho every meal had a name to go with it there was still confusion.

We stayed in the Villa suite and it was so good and worth the extra cost to have your own private spa on a secluded deck that looks into a southern alps river bed with mountains and native forests. Rooms were big comfortable and modern and a quick walk to the restaurant/bar.

Definitely recommend stopping overnight at The Bealey. Not only spectacular location but the personal service and warm atmosphere was only surpassed by the food! 5 ⭐️

Didn't have time to write until now. We stayed at this hotel in December. When we got there there was a sign saying the restaurant was closed due to sick staff. We were a bit worried since we didn't bring at food with us for this stopover.Matty and Kirsty hands down took care of everything in the hotel even though there were more guests than staff staying over that night. They helped us with checking in, cooked dinner and breakfast for us and even gave us some milk to bring back to our room to make coffee in the morning.Let me tell you the food is the best I had in New Zealand. I was surprised for sure. If I'm back in NZ next time, I will for sure stay at their hotel again. Thank you for such an amazing experience!!!

Our best hotel in South Island. Big room. Great view of mountain. You can walk to the river. There are dishes inside but you are not allowed to cook inside the room. Only minus is pretty far from anywhere so you can only eat on their restaurant which is quite expensive.
