Beautiful beach with a spectacular drive. Not for the faint hearted. Good coast walk. Best longdrop facilities.

Fletchers Bay, what a beauitful camp site, northern most camp site on the Eastern Road along the coromandel.Amazing fishing of a boat or kayak. It's a pack in pack out site so no rubbish disposal.Cold showers, long drops, water but needs to be boiled. Amazing views. The road out is a bit rough compared to the other side gravel for the most part of a hour plus, roads narrow quite a bit and idots seem to think its OK to drive down the middle of the road around corners. There is a couple of water crossings towards the end near port Jackson and onwards to fletchers bay. Maybe not the best choice for a every day car if its been raining. But a amazing little spot to spend a long weekend.

Nice beach and camping area. Pretty remote. Not that great for swimming for kids. Has cell phone reception. Great for people who are into fishing and diving.

It is beautiful, yes. We enjoyed the location. However, I think we struck a rough crowd over New Year - the inconsiderate 1% who ruin the peace and quiet. It's a nice, well maintained DOC camp ground in a stunning location (access road not for the faint hearted though).

Stunning camping with ample toilets, taps, camping space and even a camp shower spot. Stream with heaps of ducks and a backpackers for more comfy living. Start of the coastal walkway starts right from here, as the colville roads ends here. We saw penguins on the way and lots of lambs and calves near the campsite.

Absolutely stunning views and breathtaking scenery... Will come back time and time again.. Pity I did not take any photos to show the views, but there are plenty of photos going around...

Drove to Fletchers bay for the long weekend. We stayed in zone 3 which is closest to the beach as you can get unless zone 2 is avail, but normally just for day cars and boats. Beautiful stone/sand beach with blue water! Did a really cool hike to Stoney Bay and back - it is a long way so be prepared with water and snacks. Beautiful lookout about 2/3 of the way there you could turn around at for a shorter return trip! Highly recommend. Very remote get all supplies before as closest shops are at hour away on gravel road.

Fantastic place to get away from the hustle and bustle of typical New Zealand (summer can be very busy, must book campsites ahead). Many activities for the whole family including fishing, diving and snorkelling, mountain biking and hiking, including the idyllic Costal Walkway. Cold showers and running water available. Well priced.
