Waihi Beach Summer Fair

Didn't know about it till a couple of days prior ... we would've had a stall too. Hopefully better advertising next year! Apart from the wind everyone did well and we had a great afternoon exploring.

Fun fair lots of dogs and lots to look at. Busy but friendly service. Food was average for the prices they charged. Overall was a nice spot for the fair

We are lucky to see this for Waihi Beach is small but followed by some talent people on these stalls. Must be place.

Waihi Beach Summer Fair takes places in Wilson Park, Waihi Beach. Accessed from The Crescent, Waihi Beach.Fair occurs in the 1st week of January each year. Check out their website for details.

The fair was very well done. It had an amazing amount of stalls - both food and other stalls. There were bouncy castles etc for the kids. The food options were diverse. However in terms of cold desserts, I only saw one real fruit ice cream stall and a shaved ice stall. The queues for these were very long. The queues for some of the other food places were also long. Long enough that there was a significant wait time, but not so long as to be ridiculous. I ended up having the best dumplings I've ever had so my wait was worth it. Although some other food stalls I avoided because of the queues. There could also have been more rubbish bins around the place. There was one manned recycling centre in the centre of the food area, which I thought was fantastic. But when you're at a fair you tend to grab coffee and food and wander around the other stalls, and we were stuck with rubbish and unable to grab anything unless we went back to the one recycling centre (which was essentially three medium-large bins). There were some shaded areas but could have done with more. Although you were ok if you kept looking at other stalls and stayed under their shade. Overall I thought the event was very well done, and I enjoyed myself. I was even tempted to go back later that day to try some other food.

Nice fair, lots of booths. Parking is a nightmare. Nice beach close and trig track over waihi Beach is cool climb through Fern and pine forests.

Great ! But take your own water as there's usually long lines for everything food wise ! Go early as you can or take a picnic to sit on the lawn !
