Foxton Antiques

Rudest service today, no eye contact and only acknowledged with a scorned telling off that my bag better not break anything.We are traveling NZ and we are 2 months in, stopping off at many stores like this and spending money.We would not give this guy a cent today. Most unpleasant person we've crossed on our travels so far.

Wow, the items in this shop are absolutely beautiful and such rare antiques, displayed in a way that makes it easy to see what's on offer and it all flows nicely.

Great collection of dining room furniture, cabinets and China dressers. Plenty of collectable china ornaments. Some militaria. Well worth a stop.

Great varieties of antiques in the shop. There are some beautiful China tea sets, jewelries, furnitures and much more. The place is located on the main highway.

Foxton Antiques is a place that you would not normally expect to find in a place like Foxton. You would expect to find a place like this in cities like Auckland or Wellington.IE A large city.It has a exceptional good and high quality range of stock. All of the best quality. So as expected with quality comes price so it is not cheap but depending on ones point of view it is not necessarily experience either. Large range of stock from small to large.Very well worth a look no matter what. If you are just looking or want to buy it worth the time.

Saw the most amazing thing when i walked in...an old dude vacuuming , just jokes! But it was very awkward as it seemed that the vacuuming was very engrossing than a potential customer! But heres my story. I look into antique shops not for me but my friend, who is big into 1920s stuff! WKW! But on my roadies i usually check em out for her.But this guy didnt even look at me.not once. He looked everywhere else even when he grunted ,to ask him if i needed any help, after id wandered the whole shop.As i walked out , i saw a cool samovar and was keen, so asked if it was silver plated? His response, “ wouldnt be sitting there if it was sterling”The reason i post this is because i find the “ not looking “ a bit weird. What does it take to acknowledge a potential customer?But not to worry with that kind of customer attention, those antiques will only get older in his shop.Old stuff, old attitudes and old belief systems maybe why one cant look at clientele that dont “look” local ...but rest assured ,i am. Just visiting small town Nz. Finding some small minds but have met some big hearts ..just not in foxton!
