Just trying to boost the ratings really. All councils seem to disappoint rate payers so I don’t believe this one is any different from the others.

One of the Hastings city helpers Phil was wonderful. My car battery went flat so had to buy a new one, he carried my new battery all the way to the taxi stand for me as I was pushing a pram. Such a lovely thing to do I appreciate it so much.

Very unprofessional behaviours of a certain building officer Bowden.Asking for information already provided in Building consent, with poor grammar and very aggressive tones.Unpleasant experience and causing significantly delay in the BC process.

25 th April 2022. Havelock North. Why was a Wahine Maori, racially profiled in her native land, in a playground/park with her children because she has a moko on her chin? This tattoo has great significance, it comes with immense responsibility for the wearer. When done in traditional Maori way, it is a honor to be chosen for this gift. There is a wee town in Marlborough country, south island, between Picton and Nelson, called Havelock, where I experienced racial bigotry from pakeha, once as a teen and the last time as a wife and mother. THE LAST TIME EVER. Twin towns in every which way. This ignorance and stupidity is disturbing and disgusting. I am hoping for a response, a solution, education and a public apology to the mother and family. In this day and age??? Really.

Another bloated local council that can't get out of its own way, bleeding ratepayers money on literally anything apart from what they should be. Absolute disgrace to the ratepayers of Hastings.

We were 3/4 way through a reversing manoeuvre outside Uncle Bills when a “Hastings City Assist” vehicle overtook us on the opposite side of the entrance, in direct way of any oncoming traffic whom wouldn’t have seen them till the last minute as no-one would expect a car to be approaching them in the wrong lane. Why not wait five seconds for me to finish reversing thus not making the roads dangerous for other users. Isn’t that your job? To help ensure Public Safety?? We were then shocked to see you “jokingly gesture” to us, there’s nothing funny about terrible driving behaviour & I’d definitely expect more from you being as you represent the Hastings District Council.

I've not long moved here from Waikato...I always recycled, and our Waipa council provided a recyle bin and replaced them when they were broken. They were pretty tough bins and if the broke it was because if the idiots they employed.I have not recycled since I've been here, because as far as I'm concerned we pay for rubish collection in our rates, so why should we then have to buy the bins?? The bins available are so basic would not last 6 months....Come on Hastings....you want to keep the land fills from unnecessary waste?? YOU provide the bins, and well then do our part....Disgruntled

Just had to dump beautiful soft cushions beds and linen as no room at rubbish shop. Gutted and had to pay $55 for the privilege. Don't believe council is really on board they make more out of dumping. Unbelievable.
