I only had a short time frame and didn’t really want to pay for a similar thing elsewhere… was pleasantly surprised to see this, glad I stopped!

Stunning place and the odor wasn't that bad when I was there. I know it can vary from time to time but it was easy to deal with today.

A real gem! Offers a playground nearby with toilets(locked at night). Stroll around the different mudpools.Wē visited on sunset, soaking our feet in these glorious free hotpools at nightfall was soooo good.Seating area and clean bbq to use. Really well presented, clear and tidy..Well Done Rotorua.

+ Nice place go put your feet in thermal pools for free, especially nice on a colder day.- Can be hard to find a space to sit without getting your bum wet

Kuirau Park Footbaths
A recent addition, the free Kuirau Park footbaths are fed from nearby alkaline chloride springs. There are two baths, one outside and the other under cover. Keep in mind this is a footbath, so bathing is not advised and, as always with natural geothermal springs, don't let the water get anywhere near your mouth. If you can't afford the likes of the pools in Hells Gate or the high-end polynesian spa then this is a good option to experience a soak in the hot springs. Take a towel to sit on as the wooden seats do get wet. Other options for the budget traveller include Waitangi Soda Springs near lake Rotoma, Kerosene creek (be wary of car thieves) and Hot & Cold just down the road from Waiotapu.

There are two footbaths, one next to the kids playground is closed. There are two more baths near the bbq area which are open. Very clean. Excellent seating arrangement. A nice spot for a day out with bbq and kids playground close by. There are also flowers near the footbath.

Kuirau Park Footbaths
Very dissapointed. Me and my girlfriend were looking forward for the footbaths but it was just cold and seemed like a normal water.Noone else have been there I guess for the same reason. :(

A lovely spot. Yes, the mud pools are small and there are working geysers, nevertheless it is good value for money - it's free. The trees are beautiful and gardens nicely managed.
