Great to see an historical dwelling available for people to visit. Do hope it can be financially supported to keep it upgraded and open. Well worth a visit. Did wonder why there were so many dead flies on the floor though.

A piece of history by the side of highway to Balclutha townsite...It was an old stone cottage of a pioneering family from Britain...Perfect place to stretch legs and have a snack too...

To the generous historical society peopleI live up the drive across the road.Yesterday I was standing in the gateway across the road waiting for someone and noticed how big that ash tree has grown in the front lawn.IMHO the cottage would be better shown off with that tree cut down (look across the road to see how large they do grow) - and the others trimmed back a bit.Cheers and stay awesome ;)

Quaint and well cared for. This little Sod cottage is well sign posted on the busy highway near a bridge. It has a little garden and is a nice place to have a break. The interior is easy to see behind the grill and donations are accepted.
