Smart Dog Kennel and Training

We have found Smart Dog training amazing. Steven’s knowledge and care he has for dogs was evident as soon as he met our girl Pene. He gave us straight forward advice and since our training session we have have had continued friendly conversations when concerns have cropped up.Having a puppy who was growing quickly into a bigger dog it was important to us we got the right advice to provide a harmonious home for our dogs, older family members and granddaughter.We can’t recommend Smart dog training enough to anyone needing advice and guidance Thanks guys we look forward to joining your further group sessions with our puppy.

Steve and Jules have really helped us with both of our dogs. They’re really knowledgable and sincerely care and want to help. Their training style has really improved our dogs behaviour. Highly recommend their expertise!

Awesome! We were at our wit's end with our rescue who had started to show aggression. One session with Steven changed the whole dynamic and she is now much calmer and obedient, and we feel we have the tools to manage her properly and know there is backup if we need it. Steven was so knowledgeable and frank, and has advice was really appreciated. As Bruce said, while finally getting to recline in full possession of our now dogless sofa Best $200 I ever spent!". The best money we have ever spent! Steven and Jules trained our white shepherd as a puppy, he has grown up so confident and calm. We always felt he was in good hands when he stayed in the kennels. Would recommend in a flash!!!

My husband and I felt like we had bit off a bit more then we could chew with our beautiful but stubborn husky pup ! We struggled hugely with recall and walking on lead so when our husky turned one we made the decision to send him off for a board and training program with Jules and Steven. In just three weeks our pup went from pulling on the lead and zero recall, to heeled on leash walking and 100 percent confidence he would come back when he was called. Best decision we ever made and I can not recommend these amazing people enough! We now have one happy dog and two very happy and proud owners. Thank you team !

I honestly cannot recommend Steven & Jules enough nor can I put a price on their services. I am a first time dog parent and my husky Bowie and I have been lucky enough to know Steven & Jules for the past two years. To say that they have changed both mine and my dogs quality of life would be an understatement. We have worked with them on recall, socialisation and multi-dog household issues. Both Steven & Jules are incredibly knowledgeable on all things dog related and they are able communicate effectively to both dogs & dog parents, teaching you the tools you need at home. Most importantly they treat every dog in their care like their own - whenever Bowie is with them I know he is safe & well looked after. I travel from Auckland for their training & kennel services which speaks volumes about how great they are - I would travel as far as Invercargill if I had to. If you are thinking of training, daycare or kennelling, you need to get in touch with the Smart Dog team. It will be the best money you have ever spent.

Jules and Steven have been awesome with our pup Chip. She's been attending daycare regularly, and staying over when we're away since the beginning of this year. Chip gets super excited every time we pull in the driveway. They've been supportive, helping us with lots of advice and tips. We now have a happy, calm, and content dog. Would highly recommend them.

We've seen both Jules and Steven for private training sessions with our 2 shepherds, and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. It's really obvious from session 1 that they have a very deep understanding of how dogs communicate and what drives their behaviour. Our 3 year old Swiss Shepherd is on the anxious side, and we've been working with Jules and Steven to understand it better. They also helped us introduce our, now 6-month old, German Shepherd into our household, and because of their guidance things couldn't have gone more smoothly. We now have 2 extremely happy dogs who balance each other out very well, are well mannered, and have good understanding of rules and boundaries. We couldn't have got to this point without Jules and Steven.

Steven and Jules have both been great with our dog Romy. I have used them for training, day care and boarding all of which have been excellent. Romy looks forward to going there and is always well looked after. I would highly recommend them for all of the services they offer.

I cannot recommend Smart Dog Kennel and Training highly enough. I have two rescue dogs that go to weekly daycare and regular kennelling, they are both quite anxious and usually take a long time to trust new people but they loved Steven and Jules pretty much straight away not to mention how much fun they have with their beautiful Husky pack. It's such an awesome set up for the dogs, they get so much stimulation and both Steven and Jules are always happy to give some advice and to offer insight into why my girls might be behaving in a certain way. It has probably been the highlight of the of our year so far running into Jules and getting our girls settled into regular daycare and socialisation.
