White Cross Accident and Medical Clinic Otahuhu

Went to white cross for severe cramps but I was treated for “hyperventilation”. I had a a source of pain which caused my resp rate to increase. The source of pain was from severe muscle cramping of the whole body. Was given ibuprofen, and they wanted me to be able to “walk out of building on my own”. Did not treat the actual cramps which was the underlying cause. The nurse there did not understand properly. Also assumed that I had little understanding of medical terms, but I’m also a nurse. Cramps were due to an imbalance of electrolytes. But I guess it was closing time and they wanted to rush me out so they can go home (well it felt like it anyways).

I just visited there for a walk-in appointment on the day of this review. But they informed me that they treat only Covid positive patients. So they directed me to another clinic

Absolutely useless. Go in with a broken toe nail lifted from its place. Wait for nearly 3 hours and doctor says “keep it like that” and didn’t even do a bandage. Said we need to wait for nurse to do bandage and that will take another 2 hours. More interested in getting through the queue as fast as possible then treating the people properly who’ve been waiting. Money making place.Also I called in before going and the person on phone told there were 3 doctors and 1 hr wait. Get there to find only 1 doctor. No such thing as “urgent care”.1 star for the friendly nurse who triaged.

Very helpful nurse and doctor.my English is not very well but the doctor explained the reason of my back pain very carefully and patient, he also taught me some exercise.Highly recommend

Nurse Carol certainly needs to learn customer care skills! Came in from East Tamaki Mangere Town Centre with my 2 and a half year old son after a long wait, only to be scorned at as White Cross also had a wait to which my answer to her was it's very disappointing". Still waiting. A lady also with a young child had been waiting before us stormed out. Such bad branding. Seems like they are just the sub standard arm of community care rather than the first call service prior to Middlemore. My son's allergy is getting worse waiting in the packed room. Nurse Carol advised us with a wicked smile that we will have 5 patients before us. Neither did she do the obs as it was done as at East Tamaki Health Mangere hours ago. My understanding that obs were done to monitor such changes which our case could be concerning. Understand that our nursing staff is overworked but we should not be compromising the standard of healthcare for kids at the very least. Or staff that are not able to stay in the nursing profession should be doing something else and not be still practicing. After waiting for more than an hour and 5 patients before us

I tend to use the white cross they are very convenient and living in a area that seems to discount you for your demographic instead of situation is not something i would complain about. The Nurses, Doctors, Office manager who has such a professional attitude and great hair style. Our community is very lucky to have such kind caring and on to it Team. The doctors is clean and comfortable it also has what i thought was air conditioning.

I think if you are going to ask the patient to come back for a follow up then they shouldn't have to wait more than an hr to be seen.

All of the staff here were overwhelmingly lovely to deal with. Even though there was a mix up resulting in a longer waiting time for me, everyone was apologetic so can't complain. Great thorough service.

They are sometimes not fully booked or busy in the morning especially when clients have book a appointment for the morning
