Firstly we noticed service was extremely slow, we dont blame the server it seemed like she was the only one on at the time. However when we finally got served it wasn’t the greatest, the server wasn’t the nicest as well as we never got asked what spice level wanted so we ended up zero spice in our meal(dealbreaker) yes i did forget to mention what spice level but it should be standard to ask either way. Not a big fan of the VERY limited lunch menu nor the tiny portions that was gone in two bites. Naan’s were amazing we LOVED them, just would’ve liked more than 3 tiny bits of chicken in my very small butter chicken :) and some friendlier staff would be great too.

We were visiting Nelson and had Indian Cafe delivered to our unit. It was absolutely delicious. Some of the best Indian food I have had in NZ. Portion sizes generous too.

I was 'hangry' last nite when I went into this restaurant for a look see. I perused the menu displayed out the front before deciding to go in, I had previously looked at several other menus belonging to other restaurants. Having just $25 on me I am limited in what I can order but I ended up choosing the Beef Korma, so I pop in to place my order. According to the outside menu it will cost just under $22 so I had plenty on me. Alas I get to the counter to place my order and it is rung up but I'm told it will be $28 & change. I politely explain there must be an error as on the menu out the front it clearly displays a far lesser price. He laughs his head off before telling me in a great big booming voice ohh those prices are old

Ditto the 'Scootersal' review written about a month ago. I feel exactly the same as it was also our 'go to' for Indian takeaway (and sit in). The quality really has dropped quite significantly over time, such a shame.I'm genuinely surprised with recent positive reviews left by some people, but perhaps they don't realise how good it used to be?Oh well, another one bites the dust!

Best Indian Restaurant in Nelson by a long shot. Amazing prices, great friendly staff and awesome wine selection. Recommend the Original Banquet for an awesome journey for your taste buds. Vindaloo is a stand out.

The place is nice with good atmosphere and nice waiters but the food is not very good. The food we ordered was basic vegetarian meals but honestly it was flavour less.

Awesome Indian food! This place really does it well. A nice atmosphere in either the indoor or the outdoor dining experience.Staff were good, local beverages were very good and the food was great.All the breads were exceptionally well done - and the curries were amazing.A great place for families, friends and even couples to enjoy a nice night out (if you are a couple and want to be away from the crowds (or kids) then the booths outside, down the side, are perfect for that romantic date night curry.)

We waited for 1 hour and half for 2 curry. Food was ok but service was rabbish. We asked the stuff how long more do we have to wait and she said soon
