Darren test drove my car and offered superb advice on how to deal with a relatively little used but shot gear box. He was generous with his time and knowledge. Fortunately the car maker agreed to replace the gearbox but if they hadn’t, without question I would have asked Darren to do the work. Thank you for your service.

Darren was amazingly helpful, went above and beyond to help where he could. His pricing was extremely reasonable and never pushed for unnecessary costs.Would completely recommend him to anyone!!I have tried multiple mechanics in East Auckland but he is the best I have experienced for service and cost.

Head here if you want reliable, honest and affordable workmanship. Best in the business. Had my BMW X5 transmission serviced here. Darren was quick to respond, slotted me in and turned the car around in a few hours. Highly recommended you give these guys a call. A+++++

After shopping around places for a gearbox rebuild on my Integra Type R, I decided on First Gearboxes as they sounded the most genuine and friendliest over the phone.It was exactly the right choice, Darren was an absolute pleasure to deal with under all aspects. Genuine and professional in his work, And happy to work around my budget. It was clear to me that he is very passionate and enthusiastic about what he does. Darren is the man to see. I took my 2010 Toyota Camry in to have a transmission service done. The job was done in a very efficient time frame, he was great to chat to and went out of his way to check a couple of concerns I felt wasn't right. I had a wee knock in the back of the car when I accelerated, easy fix, he had found one of the exhaust hangers had come off. Thanks for the top job Darren, see you in a couple of weeks with the wife's car. I highly recommend Darren at First Gearboxes.
