Talia Taylor Design

Talia Taylor knows how to transform a vague brief into something special. I thought I knew what I wanted, but the colours, materials and ultimate design of my space were well beyond anything I was capable of imagining. I’m thrilled with my new living room and can’t wait to engage Talia for the next interiors project at my home. She was lovely to work with and tackled any roadblocks with humour and professionalism. I would recommend Talia to anyone who wants a beautiful space to live in. The only problem is that she is usually booked up months in advance…!

Take one 1926 farmhouse in the Waikato, my vision for an “oversized farmhouse kitchen with an industrial meets Hamptons vibe” and what do you get? Umm, confusion. My ‘homestead’ had great bones and light, and that was about it. Talia listened to my vision and turned them into reality.The 3D design she magicked up blew my mind, and now I’m standing in it. I get to share my beautiful kitchen diner with my three busy sons, husband and the rest of my friends with a few wines. This space is not only the heart of my home, but a meeting point for the whole area. It’s a hard-working spot providing the backdrop to family meals, homework, parties and farm meetings. My highlights: beautiful antique brass accents in the form of taps and hardware by Perrin and Rowe, exposed shelving for crockery and plants, my 2x integrated pantries in lieu of a butlers pantry and exposed beams. Oh, and my oversized solid stone bench arrived by tractor. Never a dull moment. To top it off Talia pulled all this off from the other end of the country.Talia was a joy to work with, whilst I started this project thinking I was going to play a pivotal role, I quickly realised that it was just too easy working with Talia and I enjoyed the process from the back seat! We are just starting on our family bathroom and laundry with Talia... watch this space!
