Sad experience. The place stinks of old fat, service is slow and the food substandard. We had coffee (ok-ish) and muffins (yuck). The location is wonderful so this place could be humming. We observed that almost all customers didn't finish their food.

Worst service I have ever witnessed. Didn't even get a chance to try to the food because the staff wouldn't serve us. My sister and I were patiently waiting at the counter for a decent 10 minutes while the waitress was less than a metre away with her back turned Cleaning a counter. We rang the bell several times and she blatantly saw us but kept cleaning, then walked straight past us into a back room and didn't come back out. The other waitresses were further away and definitely saw us but didnt serve us either. It was plain rude. (note this was 100% during the cafes opening hours). Disappointing as it is such a gorgeous spot for a cafe

This has closed down and is no longer operating. Do not drive all the way down expecting it to be open. Keep going on the main road and stop at Honey Bee. They sell delicious home made pies, sandwiches, real fruit ice cream and good coffee too.

Beautiful beachfront setting and very friendly staff, but very limited menu (donuts, fish & chips, burgers, soup, and three very tired looking muffins looking very lonely in a large display cabinet), and it took 45 mins for food to be served though it was lunch time and there was only one order before us. Fish were pretty small, but donuts were really good. Perhaps being connected with a camp ground it has a lot more variety available in holiday season. Dont be fooled by the really shabby exterior and entrance (if you can find it), inside is clean, light, comfortable and spacious and there are several beachside BBQ tables on offer. Note recent name change (under new management).

Stop by for a fish n chip on the way to Cape Reinga. The Fish is crispy yet so fresh. Chips are fried well. Craving for more.
