Seriously rude staff!I parked outside their store, wanting to purchase some plywood, tiles and various other supplies for our new renovation project, and decided to drop off some old clothing at hospice next door prior to shopping.A woman called Lynley, and two other women were outside on a break. When I got out of my vehicle she rudely told me, 'Excuse me, that's a Value Parking!' I informed her that I was intending to come to do a purchase, and she then said, 'Oh, that's OK then!'She had just assumed that I was not going to shop there. She made me feel unwelcome, and I was terribly affronted.I felt so awkward by her rudeness that I felt I would go to mitre 10 instead, a further drive from my home.She has no customer skills, and the way she enjoyed a good giggle with the other 2 women after saying this to me, I felt was extremely inappropriate behavior, unprofessional.I feel this should be addressed.I chose to drop off items at hospice first, before shopping at Value, which was punishable by death, or a bitter tongue from your rude staff. YES they were rude, had you been there, you would have seen. An apology would have been suffiecient, the fact that I didn't get one says even more about the company.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the team in New Plymouth for helping to make my dream become a reality! Your affordable prices and choice of materials meant we could find what we needed within our budget. Everyone is always friendly, welcoming and has awesome customer service from the manager to the front desk administrators to the new and ‘old’ yard guys. We can’t forget the exceptional knowledge that Wal offers in the paint and coatings department. Even after changing my mind a few times, your yard assistants were patient and supportive. I wish we would have discovered you sooner and I always recommend seeing you guys first because of your customer service and prices.Thank you again for being an exceptional business in an industry where it can be hard to find good knowledge and customer service!

Very helpful staff and probably the best prices in town. I went in with my decking design and the guy at the counter checked them and suggested some changes. Having now built the deck I’m glad I took his advice, it would have been bounced otherwise. The staff all seem to be ex-tradies, they know their stuff.Excellent, knowledgeable service and speedy. Just what you want. Only downside is being closed in weekends, not so great for the home DIYer.
