I needed an SD card for a retro digital camera I’d bought a week ago and I’d exhausted options, being sold a dud card by Noel Leemings GeorgeSt, had awesome help from Harvey Normans trying to solve the issue, but ultimately, like Jonathan’s Canmera today, failed to get the camera working. Phoned the experts at International Camera in Merivale Chch and was given friendly help (the SD card needs to be less than 2GB - which is the problem, they no longer make them as of four years ago - and as influencers are making retro digital cameras cool again, it’s near impossible to find them even online…..Enter TJ - at Cash Converters Dunedin. I was actually embarrassed asking my question - as I’d gone to the desk where people pawn stuff, but upon explaining my dilemma to TJ, his eyes lit up. ‘Let me go out the back!’ He returned soon with a 2GB SD card which - grrr - was a no. SD CARD ERROR! said the camera for the zillion th time (Jonathan’s had taken me down from 16GB to 4GB to no avail). But TJ still looked optimistic. ‘Let me go out the back again’, said he, looking very thoughtful. ‘That sounds hopeful..?!’ I said as he raced off. And then….. the Man Returned, literally with a bag full of used SD cards and he pulled out a 1GB One and as he put it in his eyes lit up…. No error message! He pointed the wee beauty of a camera at the wall like a pro and ….. thumbs up….! He had cracked it. Went out of his way. Hunted and problem solved like a pro that not even the experts could help me with, and worse - telling me the internet would not even give me joy. So TJ - you bloody champion, you deserve a raise. Above and beyond, the service - and the enthusiasm he had to help was epic. Thank you so much!!!!!

Can’t rate this store high enough. Staff are so helpful and although busy take their time with customers. Lots of great products in store and services to choose from. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff and good customer service provided. Service was done in a timely matter and was able to leave the store with some extra cash. Items were easy to find and store was well presented which is always a plus.

Does have good deals, but tend to rip people off when you sell, nothing has changed over the years

Brought a note9 from a lovely lady their yesterday. Got it home and found some scratches on the back which I didn't realise were there. Took it back today and was served by the same lady and she was more than willing to swap. Had to factory reset the phone which was a bit of a mission and I was in a hurry to leave as I was late for an appointment. Another lady came over and said I couldn't leave until they could verify that it was factory reset properly. She turned out to be quite rude and was quite rude to the friendly lady that was originally serving me telling her off in front of me saying that she shouldn't have said I could leave even though I left my contact details. I didn't think she was being very professional in the way she was talking with the other lady and she made me feel like a criminal that was trying to rip them off even though I had just spent $850 in their shop. If it wasn't for the exceptional service from the first lady that had initially sold the phone to me I would have given them a 1 star review because of her coworkers terrible attitude. I've changed my mind 1 star they get

Went in there with some items for sale. I understand they need to make money but they offered $20 for RRP $500 worth of brand new gear. Appalling.

The staff at Cash Converters south Dunedin are great and very helpfull.I would like to offer high praise to Sharni who offered me excellent advice and helped me to resolve my issue.
