It was nice to know that I could go locally and enjoy the experience of actually buying a book. Discovering there is a Poppies shop in Howick would make a worthy visit for a couple of hours to glance at a few books. Great looking store with a great selection of Kiwi greats as well as International books in fiction/non-fiction. A lot of these hard covers in the shop would make grifts for Birthdays and Xmas.

Great first experience here - I located a hard-to-find book on their website, ordered it late at night and received an immediate response the next morning. The book was very well packed and arrived amazingly quickly. Very nice personal service via emails which kept me completely up to date with what was happening. I look forward to visiting in person if I'm ever in the vicinity.

Really lovely bookshops with a great selection in all areas of books, cards, magazines etc. Fantastic to have an independent book shop in Howick, too many chain stores as franchises, just the added touch with the very enthusiastic owners such as Poppies. Their prices are competitive so no need to go elsewhere.

I enjoy going to Poppies and looking at the fantastic range of new titles and books that you won't find at other booksellers. Add in an interesting range of magazines with friendly service and Poppies is a must visit when shopping in Howick.
