We approached Mike Holmes because a neighbour of ours had an award winning Holmes Architecture designed house that we were very impressed with.Mike listened to our ideas and presented a first draft plan to us that was exactly what we wanted.The result was our home, which is a contemporary styled, visually appealing, sunfilled, easy care home that is a joy to return to.One thing we liked was their real ability to listen. Our home reflects our ideas and our taste as well as showcasing Mike's skill around environmental, design, and insulation trends.We found the experience relatively easy! Considering the complex nature of building your own home.As a result of Mikes design work for us, my sister has an existing home thats had an amazing complete interior redesign and renovation courtesy of Holmes Architecture.We would recommend Holmes Architecture to anyone considering building.

Working with Holmes Architecture was great. Mike listened to what we wanted and worked well with us to achieve a great outcome. We are really enjoying living in our new house and having Mike and his team involved throughout the build process really helped get the build completed to a really high quality. Mike and his team really helped with getting everything processed through the council too.

We had Mike and Lena design our first home build. We had been looking at kit set homes but couldn’t find any that suited our section that was extremely windy with a south facing view and the sun on the North side.Mike came out and did a site visit, asked us what style we wanted, our rough build budget and how many bedrooms etc. Within a couple of weeks they had a concept design for us to see and it was everything we were looking for!Holmes Architecture were very transparent with their payment schedule so we didn’t have any surprise invoices and we knew what to expect at each stage of the design process.They got us over the line at a really busy time of the year for our building consent application with the Porirua City Council. They worked well communicating to our builders and their Knowledge of the house design and building code meant we were able to get our final CCC (Code of Compliance).We would not hesitate to recommend Holmes Architecture or work with them again. We approached Holmes Architecture because we had purchased an original 1920's house and we needed some help to create it into a family home that worked for all members of our family. Holmes Architecture helped with our working plans and gaining consent with the council and we project managed the build with consulting help from Mike.We are absolutely thrilled with the result. We have a lovely modern home that works well for every member of our family. The spaces are great. The exterior design is interesting. I really like Mike's easy going nature. He listened to what we wanted and was happy to incorporate our ideas into the project. He didn't take over.I found the experience really good. I would definitely recommend Holmes Architecture to people who need original and interesting plans designed.

Mike did a great job in drafting a plan to extend a contemporary indoor pool structure to incorporate a full working commercial 70sqm gym using the same materials as the existing structure. We operate a world class level luxury lodge and the finished product was befitting the quality level

Mike Holmes designed our first ever build in Greytown and the process was seamless. Mike took our brief and turned it into our dream family home which worked out to be priced in our originally specified budget range. The cleverly designed spaces and architectural features he put into the plans makes our home something really special and we couldn't be more happy with it - each and every space is functional and well thought out. The whole concept and design phase was easy going and Mike was involved throughout the whole build with site visits and queries from contractors etc. We would highly recommend the team from Holmes Architecture, amazing result!
