Old Street Asian Hawker Food
Genuinely the best, most genuine Malaysian food you’ll find in Christchurch. So awesome having a bit of home so far away from home. Highly recommend dining in as some dishes are best for it. Takeaway is still great but you might need to check with staff with what you pick. To have meals like this at their prices also puts keeps regular customers happy. Very rare to find a gem like this with meals for around $16 in 2023. - Happy local

Always have had a great experience here for many years, generous large portions at an affordable price and the Malaysian flavours are on point. Service is super quick. Place speaks for itself as it is usually full and you may need to wait for a seat. Highly recommend!

Old Street Asian Hawker Food
Decided to come here and try it as it comes highly recommended by a couple of friends. The restaurant is a little bit small and could get really crowded during peak hours (and there would be a bit of wait as well). But when food arrived, I was not disappointed. Authentic taste and of decent portions as well! I like the deco of the place, and how the menu design matches the atmosphere! Some dishes remind me of food from home. Nice experience overall.

Incredible place. Authentic through and through. Great genuine service - amazing food. Like just simply fantastic. Rate this place an 12/10. So good we have eaten here multiple times on a 1 week holiday to Chch.

Old Street Asian Hawker Food
Dined here tonight here with 5 other people, great size portions. I went up to pay and the total was $ 155, we had quite a bit left over and I asked for 3 containers to take the leftovers… the card transaction was then cancelled and a new figure of $ 156.50 was entered, I asked why the price just went up and the guy said I needed to pay .50c each for the containers !!! …. Who does that !!!???

They had run out of a few thing when we ordered and since this was the first time trying this place for food, we thought wow this place must be good. It took a while to get our order and when we got it, it was flavorless and watery. I had to add salt and pepper to add simple seasoning. Sorry, but thus was not a favorite

A unique traditional meal of street food. Is worth the visit if you craving for asian foods or just a big meal. The portion are generous and the the interior are plaster with Penang street are wallpaper. It is self service and cash only. Closed on Monday. Open during lunch and dinner, shop closed in between.

Not up to our expectation. Char kuey tiao was more of a stir fry with bbq pork. If you want char kuey tiao in Christchurch, I would recommend Adam's Malaysian Noodles instead. Fish ball kuey tiao was ok. Children enjoyed the fried fish balls. Ning yong was ok but not exceedingly wowed by it. Parents previously dropped by and tried their wanton mee and curry laksa. Wanton mee was good but curry laksa was very powdery. Mixed feelings about this meal.
