Amazing walk. Short 20 minutes to the first look out point which is beginner level and get nice views of the area. Definitely a step up to the peak but completely worth it. I would say it's about medium level. Will definitely need to get your hands dirty. Going to come back again for sure!

A challenging climb with a bit of scramble in places. Stunning 360° view on the top. Preparing enough water, food, hiking poles and hiking boots before you start.

Awesome hike, the summit track had mud, rocks, roots added to the fun of it. Views of the kaimais at the top is well worth it

Nice walk, gets a little steeper near the summit but on a nice day, get rewarded with stunning views over the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty.

Great walk to the summit! A bit steep so you have to be in good physical condition but worth it!About 3h30 up and down.

The hike is hard and in some places is more like climbing and will take you between 2 to 3 hours to the summit. Once on top will be rewarding. To return to the Domain you can follow the track back or you can take the road which is a little bit longer but is easier and you have nice views.

Great track to get a good challenging hike! With an awesome perspective looking towards Te Aroha while going up the Pylon Peak Track. Mostly an interesting track, some areas are constant incline or decline which some people can struggle with. We added the Waipapa track & Dog Kennel Flat tracks to get upto the Te Aroha Summit. Well worth it to see the ridgeline we had come along. With the addition, it was 18.1km and took us 7.5hrs from Waiorongomai Carpark return (including snack breaks and photos) Loved it

Great hike but make sure your gear is correct, you are fit AND take food. We misjudged the road (not track) down so we ended up on a long walk through town! Exhausted! But well worth it with perfect weather today!
