Disappointing. Food was average after a very long wait. Plates were cold. Lacked ambience. Have been here before and had a great time, but this was really underwhelming.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Whitianga. The service was delightful. The food and cocktails are absolutely amazing- enjoyed every single bite of the meal. Highly recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at salt. The waterside views were stunning and the seafood was some of the freshest I've ever had. The service was also top-notch, making for a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend!

SALT was inviting by the promise of the menu, but as a result - overrated. Partners main of scotch fillet came well done (ordered med-rare) and entree of coromandel oysters kilpatrick were shriveled and VERY small at $26/half dozen... however the calamari entree was a good portion size and tasty. My main of poached chicken however was bland and tasteless. The vegetables for both meals were the shining stars... disappointing after a highly anticipated visit. The staff were friendly and softened the blow of the night.

The staff were wonderfully friendly and accommodating.Food and drinks were spectacular.And the atmosphere was beautiful with the fire keeping us all toasty and warm whilst watching the blustery wet weather outside.We will definitely go back for more

Ā beautiful location overlooking the marina. Unfortunately it was cold with the wind. The 4 bacon scallops presented in scallop shells were glorious. I enjoyed my cauliflower steak (I don't usually eat vegan, but enjoyed the change). My friend found her calamari bland.

We’ve been to Salt many times and every time we had different experience. The food quality is never consistent, last night food was way too average (specially our entree of salmon trate didn’t even taste like salmon and chicken didn’t taste fresh) & don’t have a good wine wine selections. Ambiance & Service is usually good.

2 stars for food, 5 stars for service!My husband and I decided to order the share platter with the rib eye steak. One small steak on a plate with potatoes and veges. We had to cut the steak in half and even I was still hungry afterwards (hubby didn't feel like he had eaten)If we knew it would be so small we would have ordered a steak each instead of a share plate (which looked like a single meal) for $65. The steak was also quite dry, we did ask for it to be well done though, however probably a bit 'too' well done.Then for dessert hubby had sticky date pudding which was nice, I had the sago pudding which was flavorless.Very over priced food, and not that nice.The serving staff were very friendly and polite, based on service I'd go back! Based on food, I wouldn't go back.
