great place to stop just out of rakaia. had to pick Mazda demio up and was RAVENOUSLY hungry and saw oasis tea room home made beef stroganoff pie advertised outside and just HAD to stop and try. had a coffee and the aforementioned pie plus a side serving of excellent service

Great breakfast cafe, friendly staff, popular with motorists and truckers alike. Do a cooked breakfast and toasties made to order upto 1pm, good selections of tray bakes and and pies.Plenty of parking both sides of road.

I really like this setting inside. But their opening hours are not helping. They open early, so they are closed at 2.00pm. Making it worse they are shut on weekends too. I have seen this many times when I drive by. I wish if they can extend working hours towards afternoon. May be they have their reasons doing that. Food, service everything is fine. But not their operating hours.

Gail and Ian were a delight. He makes all of the considerable array of baked goods. Many kinds of meat pies and sweets. I highly recommend the lemon tart with its shortbread crust. Perfect eggs made by Gail.

I had breakfast there on 20th October 1996 on our way to Queenstown. Sausage roll was very very delicious. Hope to be able to visit there again
