I was in Taupo on Thursday 6th for business and whilst walking down Ruapehu street in the evening decided to stop in and buy a pack of 3 Chicken tenders. I felt like having a snack and ordered something simple but spicy.The place was bright, had clear menu's and what looked to be clean and tidy seating (I did not wander about to check)The food, when it arrived, was really tasty, not fatty, presented in a box and of course with a serviette.There were just two groups, already seated, in the restaurant when I arrived and I was told it would be a 10 minute wait for my food, this actually surprised me. Front of counter service was probably from the owners Teen daughter and the parents were in the kitchen (all counter service to other staff was in another language). The service was far from professional, I would have expected a team or business uniform (that's also a hygiene thing) greetings and attentive service. The girl at the counter had her back to the customers most of the time, doing other jobs for her parents, and having your back to customers just does not make customers feel good or able to ask questions. I had to interrupt her to ask if my food was ready yet .... it took so long!Yes, 19 minutes later I received my food, my suspicion is that they were waiting for multiple orders before they cooked ..... to save costs I guess? So pretty much 20 minutes since I arrived I received my simple snackI totally felt mislead, almost 20 minutes is just rubbish service for a fast food outlet/burger bar with almost no customers in sight, I felt deliberately mislead and that my custom was not actually appreciated.

it was our first time trying Chicking, was told it would be 10min wait and it ended up being 30min wait which we took into consideration because they had just opened for the day but it was cold (slightly warm) we ordered the Super 2in1. The flavour was nice and food no greasy which was good! but could improve with the timing and freshness of the Kai.

Firstly amazing owners, they really care for the place and every customer! It's great to see such hardworking humble people.The food is cooked fresh, they go the extra mile to make sure your experience is perfect .I will definitely be back , wish you all the success !

My partner and I visited Taupo during our recent visit to New Zealand and were blown away by the quality of food and service, especially during the busy Easter weekend. Even at my local place (Melbourne), we had not encountered such a pleasant and welcoming environment. We had the Toasties and Soho rice. This is undoubtedly one of the nicest meals we've ever had, and we visited twice in two days. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Worst fried chicken ever had , the guy was saying that its because head office did not reduce the cooking timing but reduce the size of the chicken thats why its soo dry as sahara dessert .lolSmell like cooked in dirty oil , seriously will never eat chicking ever again , ITS NOT MY CHOICE

We came in here for lunch and it we were genuinely impressed with how yum it was. We both got a combo which was $14.99 (can't remember the name sorry). It was really good value, cooked fresh to order so very hot when you get it - make sure you wait for it to cool down! It's probably the crunchiest chicken we've had. Would definitely have again! Btw the chicken burger looked way better in person than my photo looks haha, oh and there were chips as well but I gave them to my hubby so not in pic.

Much like how the other reviews state, you get this weird feeling inside the place like everyone is fed up waiting. The staff are a little unprofessional, giggling away and shrugging as they are packing food, does make you a little unnerved. They are friendly/polite otherwise though. Food takes ages to get ready, as it's popular, the chicken is excellently cooked, I'm only lowering my rating because the Spicy chicken wasn't the taste I was expecting. It's more like an Indian Masala taste, except fried. Overall it's not bad.

I tried chicking for the first time and I loved it! Everything was so fresh and tasty.The spicy chicken was my favourite! There were alot of tables to sit at aswell.

Friendly staffChicken cooked fresh and hot. Not greasy at all, great crunch and juicy, even the tenders had a bounce bite.Floor was slippery and toilets not nice.Menu was disorganized and incomplete.I look fwd to eating again and trying the whole chicken bucket of drums and thighs.Chicken was delicious
