AVOID!There communication systems, professionalism and customer service could use some major work. I wouldn't even rate them one star. They were completely unprofessional and slow to respond to enquiries. I enquired about sending a box and I received an email response telling me I should use my suitcase instead. I emailed back asking for an enquiry on how this works and to cancel the box. They took their sweet time responding just so it would be outside of the cancellation timeframe and I would be up for the deposit. I have brought this to their attention with emails that clearly show they are at fault. They still won't refund my deposit even though it was due to their suggestion I used a suitcase over a box. Best to avoid seven seas worldwide and use a different service like send my bag.Edit to add to their response: Costs were only incurred by them due to their incompetency and lack of communication system. I clearly communicated with them around canceling and have an email trail that proves so. I was in email contact with plenty of notice and yet they still won't provide a refund. Due to this and having paid a deposit that you choose not to refund due to your error, I am in fact able to express an opinion and recommendation of your services or lack thereof. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

If you are even a little bit uncertain that they can send your items without issue, I would suggest you avoid this company at all cost. They will make you jump through hoops, waste your time and charge you for every minute you spend going through whatever new form or declaration they decide is valid. All while holding your items hostage. If I could give them less than 1 star I would.Edit. They state that my contents were of commercial basis which they were not by all means they are personal and it did not stop them from taking the parcel and charging me for it.

We shipped 2 boxes from Cardiff, Wales to Wellington, NZ. Phone and email support to prepare documentation was excellent and both pick up driver and delivery driver were helpful, professional and polite. We loved being able to see on a map where our belongings were as they travelled across the world. All communication was timely and courteous. Would definitely recommend.

Moving abroad is a really stressful process.The well designed process/system allowed for a smooth handling of our booking, packing and collection of our goods.The crate / cube is in good condition, sturdy and comes readily assembled. The truck was equipped with a hydraulic tail lift, which made loading effortless.When loading was complete, the driver clipped the door into place, sealing it securely. Our goods are now waiting to dispatch from the cargo hold.Happy customers

I cannot remember the last time I have been so frustrated with a company. I’m still waiting for my shipment 3 months later, I’m now stuck on the other side of the world with no clothes and none of my possessions. I was not made aware of how long shipping would take, and there is absolutely nowhere to go with complaints. Avoid at all costs.

I had four boxes shipped from Germany to New Zealand. The service was quick (less than the estimate) and I found them fairly easy to reach on the phone, and good to deal with. However, my boxes were left unattended on my doorstep, when it was specifically a sign-only deal. The first three boxes were delivered one night and I called Seven Seas to report that the boxes were left unattended on my doorstep, and to ask where the fourth box was. They seemed to take it seriously. 24 hours later, the fourth box turned up, and was also left unattended on my doorstep!I realise this is often the fault of the local courier who is sub-contracted to Seven Seas, but it's unacceptable to leave $20,000 worth of equipment sitting outside on a doorstep. I can only imagine the battle I would have had (and inevitably lost) if someone stole all my equipment from in front of my house (even though I paid $1000 for insurance).Freight companies need to take responsibility for this, as it seems to happen all the time.

We finally received our items we gave to seven seas back in July 2021. Just shy of 7 months. I know there is a delay in shipping at the moment but it was a bit ridiculous. And no mention prior. I would strongly suggest looking at other shipping companies before deciding to go with them. We were told it would be up to 112 days to receive our items. Their customer service team is not well informed and constant give wrong and conflicting information

I am currently SO frustrated and they refuse to send my boxes to me. I used them 6 years ago to send a small shipping container overseas. I paid them to pack it and EVERYTHING broke inside after it was delayed for about 2 months. No real customer service although the person who responded to my mail sounded genuinely sorry but could not offer any company support or even an official apology. Will never send a container again, but in the process of sending two boxes. But now my documents cannot load properly - their system keeps extracting just the image of my visa. I have mailed numerous times and asked for advice or assistance and get the most ridiculous replies where they just state the obvious and offer no acknowledgement of my request or give any indication that they understand my query... Conveniently they are charging me for storage while their system won't accept my PDF or jpeg visa... ridiculous money making scheme. I cannot believe they operate in this way. Not transparent and not trustworthy.REPLY TO YOUR REPLY: Dear SevenSeas. The job of 6 years ago was the container. It was definitely your company and there was an option to pay somebody to come pack my container in Capetown... please don't make me out to be a liar, because if so, I want my money back that I paid to you for the packing. As for the two boxes that I am currently trying to send, it is also you. If your customer service was only as fast as the replies to these reviews - it would already be better. If you are still confused as to whether I am talking about you or not, just let me know and I will HAPPILY paste the useless replies I finally received from your company into this review.

Be very weary. I used Seven Seas multiple times while moving overseas without issue, but on the most recent occasion an item with premium insurance was damaged during shipping and they have been absolutely unwilling to accept any liability or try to work towards a reasonable resolution.Don't expect phone support to help as they have corporate stonewalls up stopping you speaking to anyone beyond first level customer support.Don't expect their insurance or complaint departments to help, their concern is with saving dollars, not helping their customers.Read the insurance fine print, it covers far less than you'd expect, even their premium insurance.If you have item(s) damaged with Seven Seas, expect to have to pay out of your own pocket, or go all the way to Ombudsman.Just use another shipping company, I sure will be!EDIT in response to Seven Seas: Your truck driver broke the item as he was removing it from the Seven Seas truck - I was there. So this was not just an insurance claim, the item was damaged by your driver on delivery, and so the complaint was raised with you, not your insurance provider. Your refusal to acknowledge any wrongdoing or accept any liability is egregious. I had recommended you to many people over the last 7 years, but now I will do the opposite. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to rectify the issue.

Be very wary of this company!The tape was cut at the bottom of our boxes & items stolen. When you receive your boxes they look untampered. When all the photo's were sent to Head Office they refused to accept any responsibility, even though we had paid for the extra insurance. When you report this issue to police there is nothing much they can do in either country about it as it is regarded as an overeas crime - Seven Seas realise this so really don't care. The extra insurance is not worth the paper it's written on. Be very wary of trusting this company with your belongings - zero care or ethics!
