Love this store. Great owner who is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Great recommendations that have all become favourites. There's really something for everyone, from the littlies, to the novice, to the seasoned gamers. It's really packed full of games. Great location too! Next to a yummy cake cafe and my favourite korean restaurant.

I need people to appreciate how magnificent this place is! I've only been here once for the recent Catan qualifier because Settlers of Catan is epic and you should play it if you haven't already. This entire store, the community of people that it attracts, James, and the rest of the team made it one of the best experiences ever. If you need anything board and card games-related, this is absolutely the place to go- hands down, second to none. This place also has its own Mark and he is absolutely hilarious- if you're into enjoying life, laughter, and a healthy knowledge-base for games. Oh, also the Cafe next door has bussin macarons if you're in your self-love era. ❤️

I’m new to the board game world, but Hobby Games is just the perfect shop / community (see below) to help you out. Reasonably priced, and they offer such a wide variety of games. Much wider than what other shops in Auckland offer!They also offer gaming nights on Wednesdays and Fridays - see the back of the shop for all the games to play! I still need to get to one of these nights but have heard great things.Awesome staff as well. Really friendly and they know their games! If you are new to the board game world or are looking for a great and welcoming board game community in Auckland, this is the place.
