Great Experience. Coffee always Good.Had Creamy Mushrooms, lot of mushrooms,a very creamy sauce on toast. Bread baked on site. Partner had Eggs Benedict it looked delicious.All was plated very nicely, with good portions.

Amazing food and very well priced. Great for an early 6am breakfast, mid morning snack or lunch. Any size coffee is $4.50.

This place is nice and clean, and the staff is lovely.They were very helpful when I was trying to choose something dairy free, and she gave me recommendations for next time, too.Food wise, it's what you expect from an NZ bakery, but everything I've had from here has been fresh and good quality.

Wonderful cafe found close to the Hastings CBD. It almost feels like a bit of an oasis with the nice tree shaded outside patio, on a part if the streets where there isn't a lot of greenery.The food was amazing, and certainly hit the spot well... I highly recommend the French toast, which is what I had. My wife had the creamy mushrooms, which she too thoroughly enjoyed.This is definitely a place to consider if you're looking for somewhere for breakfast or lunch in a region full of great eating options.

Good prices, all the usual kiwi bakery fare, nice mango lassi, the service is always the standout, lovely people. If you like a strong coffee though, go for the small size, cup sizes are large.

I have no hesitation in referring The DAX Cafe to anyone, as the foods made fresh everyday, the service I have received is always the friendliest with smile's, even though they're up at extremely early hours of the morning, yes around the 1am time, (which will explain why the owners seem tired as any of us would be, yet the smiles and politeness never changes) they do that to get the food we all love and return for regularly made, that's made for every customer who frequently visits for freshness and variety. The DAX meals are very generous and always piping hot when served, this is an amazing place to relax, have a chat and to catch up with others, we love this little cafe it's an amazing place to be.Esmee

Best pies in Hawke's Bay by far..lots of variety and value for money... tried the steak ones...chocka full of chunks of meat... delicious... Great service too.
