Basic holiday park, facility is a bit old. It is clean though.The down side is, I was charged 20 dollars for the night. Here is the story: I have two friends staying there for two nights, in a caravan. The second afternoon I joined them. So I went to pay the extra money. The lady charged me 20 dollars. After this my friend told me they were charged 36 dollars per night. My understanding is I don't take more space (cause I was staying in the caravan with them). My experience is most holiday park will charge slightly less for the extra people, if they don't take another camping space.

Enjoyed the stay in the small cabins. Spent 2 nights star gazing as the Mt. Somers area is a great dark sky site.Good facilities, quiet spot. Great location for visiting Ashburton Lakes.Would stay again.

This is a nice tucked away small town with one pub and a holiday park with cabins as well. It has a really good shared kitchen which can be used and a good place to meet other travelers.

After a less than favorable experience at another camp, Mount Somers Holiday Park made us feel very welcome. Our husky camped on the balcony of our cabin & even made friends with the camp chicken. Will defiantly stay again.

Mount Somers Holiday Park
First time staying here in one of their standard cabins while the grandparents stayed in a campervan. Clean and tidy, with a mini fridge, cutlery, plates and bowls, kettle and toaster, dining table and chairs along with double bed and single bunk beds. Tea/coffee/sugar nor provided. Wifi slow. Shared rec rooms, kitchen and toilets/shower block. Trampoline and climbing frame available on site plus there's a playground at the domain next door which was good but the one in the local primary school is even better! Community pool also looks good. Better than expected.
