Snap Rentals

AVOID THIS COMPANY. Was given a car with extensive body damage and half a tank of gas. Every other car rental agency I've worked with has done a walkthrough of any damage WITH the client so we can agree. This guy said Don't worry about it; I took a picture." Then there's the matter of the $2000 bond which takes three weeks to reimburse because apparently the year is 1893. I complained to the head office and they did *nothing* to help. No thanks

Chi who helped me during pick up and drop off was fantastic. Can't rate her support and service more highly. The car was also fantastic and could not fault it at all. Would definitely use Snap if I am back in NZ

Edited review - as they have since responded to this review and processed the bond refund. Apart from the refund issue, overall a good experience with this company. The car was good and in-store service efficient. I would love to see them update their policy to allow debit cards for bonds (like all hotels do...) so that issues like these don't arise.Previous Review: Literally refusing to refund the $2000 excess and now ignoring all of my emails. They told us we HAD TO give them a cash excess because we don’t have a credit card (they wouldn’t accept a debit card) and that they would refund it back onto our card when we returned the car, said it might take 3-5 weeks. Has now been 9 weeks - they said they would do the refund and they haven’t and now no longer reply to my emails.

Rented a Hiace one way through Usave in Auckland dropping off in ChristchurchGreat price, great service, vehicle in good condition. Really nice people to deal with in both cities, Should I ever need a rental again I would definitely use Snap/USave.

Avoid using SNAP. When taking out the car, the attendant didnt mark all the scratches on the car. Further, they charged my credit card with an admin fee for toll roads without my permission.

This company is a scam! Do not use them. I paid for full insurance including AA coverage on a rental car last month, but when the car battery needed to be replaced I was told by an AA representative on the phone that the plan was not active. After I was unable to reach the Snap office for hours, even though it was during the business day, I paid to replace the battery myself. Snap eventually assured me multiple times that they would be able to reimburse me through a refund. Over two weeks have passed, and the only development is that an unidentified third party is reaching out to me asking for my bank details over email to issue the refund. If that's not asking for a scam, I don't know what is. Don't waste your time with Snap, there's many other choices out there.

Picked up a car in Auckland City for two days. Anita was super helpful, and upgraded me to a hybrid on request. Car was flawless. Returned it later than I had planned, and Anita stayed a little late to take care of it for me. Great friendly and competent service, terrific car. Above and beyond expectations.

The service of this company is horrible. Stuff are rude and irresponsible. Calls no way to get through or they would disconnect then not call back. Wasted hours for something that already been confirmed. And make you wait at the counter for hours.They are dishonest and always make mistakes and trying to charge you extra illegally and waste your time.Don’t ever rent from them! Not worth the headache. Any other car rental company is much better!

Rented car on Friday late night. Got the car on Saturday morning within minutes. Returned the car on Tuesday within minutes. Got back the 2000 deposit on Wednesday. Car was clean and perfect.
