This is the quaintest place ever and a delight to visit whenever we pass through Otorohanga. It has sense of a bygone era with piles of woollen socks everywhere and the best selection of Levi jeans I’ve ever seen at the best price I’ve come across. It’s definitely a low tech store so I ordered more jeans over the phone and John couriered them to me. Visit this place for the nostalgia and buy some good quality clothes for the bargains. And say hello to John and his team !

This place used to be our family go-to shop when we lived in the area. I had forgotten about it. So many products (some retailers claim are no longer in production) available in every colour. Think Swandri classic bush shirt.It's worth a special trip as the service is unbelievable. Anyone contemplating retail should visit. Reminds me of Grandad's shoe shop. I went thinking I might buy a checked shirt but walked out with my arms full of things I have been looking for for years and a big grin. A great day out in lovely Otorohanga.

I came to New Zealand 20 years ago and wow it was an experience visiting this store! Hats placed on my head, socks in hands, new stock suggestions try this how about that! So unique and iconic really as the store has been operated by these brothers since 1965! Still get all of our farm gear and work clothing from here. Awesome country folk, awesome prices and I love the 'if it's not broken don't fix it motto!'

The first thing you do after visiting the Waitomo caves is visit Haddad Karan to stock up on the best priced Marino sweaters and hunting jackets . I bought a merino undershirt and my son in law bought a possum/merino sweater it was so heavy! For my granddaughters I bought them rain boots called the Red Line were on sale for $39 a pair. I met both the brothers in 2017 when I bought my Swazi so sad that one of them has passed away in a tragic road accident
