The Y Camp Adair

Went out there for a day with my school group. Huge place. So many activities. Facilitators are great too. Highly recommend.

Superb camp for the kids. Awesome food, great activities and helpful/friendly instructors. Safety was at the front of all activities which was great. My son and I had a sensational time here. I came here 2 years ago with my daughter and everything is still really well run.

Set at the foothills of Hunua Ranges, Camp Adair is a great spot for group activities for schools, corporates etc. With a wide range of activities including archery and shooting the events are well coordinated by YMCA facilitators. The camp has ample space for lodging including cabins with bunk beds and mattresses. The kitchen has enough space to hold a group of 100. The bridge across the stream take you to the best outdoor activity spot - Mud Slide!!

Wow! Its in the middle of hunua ranges ... so peaceful and so safe.Was here to visit a family friends' kid on a sikh camp for 4 days.Awesome. Only 30 mins from Flatbush! Scenic road!

Great place to have a family camp however make sure you have enough money so you can include activities ☺️

What a great place for a school camp. It has heaps of accommodations. Heaps of activities like confidence courses etc. Beautiful kahikatea forest. Water slide and swing bridge.

I'm not sure if my experience is relevant to what camp Adair is like today but I wanted to share a bit about my experience when I was a kid. I visited the camp in 2010 with my school. I don't remember much of the activities but there seemed to be lots to do. Unfortunately the one thing that stuck out was when me and the other girls in my cabin found a maggot, which made us notice another and another until we saw they were everywhere. It got to the point where it looked like someone had walked around every inch of the ground in muddy boots. The whole ground was covered. I remember sitting outside in the rain crying watching my teacher mop up the infestation. Looking back I always wonder why it was left to my teacher to do this. His efforts were pointless as it didn't take long for the maggots to reappear and we were dispersed into other cabins. Not long after we were told what had caused the infestation. Bait had been laid in the roof and a possum had gotten up there and died. The possum was just above my bunk and the maggots would fall down onto my friends bed, then drop down to mine and then onto the floor. I hate to imagine how riddled that possum would have had to have been for that many maggots to appear. I was really affected by this situation, it would be years before I could see a maggot without hyperventilating and I never went on a school camp again. To be fair this was 13 years ago and I hope the camp has put measures in place to ensure this never happens again.

Beautiful camp with so many trees and river! They have playing ground for so many activities!

Really amazing place for big group or church for a getaway. Two grounds for outdoor game, river rafting and other outdoor activities on request. Place for camp fire and so many other things.Cabins are good but can get very cold. So heater in the cabins so you need good sleeping bags. Good and clean toilets. Highly recommended place.Kitchen and cutleries available too.
