I've made a booking for 4 full days from Sunday morning to Thursday morning and they charged me for an extra full day just because they do calendar day". Obviously I had to pay foe insurance an extra day... rip offThe heater was not working. I had it swv up on 30 degrees and it hardly gave any heat so I was freezing most of the time.Paid $30 to be covered with full insurance

Great utilisable service with easy after hours pickup drop off.Vehicle was great however the bed add on was sloped down and was too uncomfortable to sleep on being tall so I ended up getting a room.

Awesome experience! Staff is very helpful. We picked at Christchurch and left at Auckland. Our car was Dream Sleeper Mini with many equipment. Drives almost like a normal car, but it feels heavy like it should. Had some issues with touchscreen, sometimes it started to press buttons automatically, but overall all worked very well.We lost one lid of the pod, but had no issues or fines. Also we cleaned and washed car on delivery.

We had a bit of a mixed experience with spaceships and our dream sleeper mini.To start with the negatives:- Our ‘luxury’ dream sleeper was in poor shape on the outside. It was battered and scratched all over, missing a hub cap and looked very tired - far from what was described or sold to us.- The van was very thirsty on fuel- Not ideal in the rain as you need to empty the van when setting the bed up and turning the chairs around. The rain and wind is also an issue when cooking which is done outside.- Make sure you check USB ports are working as our front port didn’t work- The van smelt of mould and dirt which we couldn’t get rid of- the van was pretty dirty when we collected it and the curtains especially were filthy.The positives:- The people who work here are very friendly and helpful.- The size of the vans are handy in that they aren’t too big and therefore easily manoeuvrable around towns and twisty roads in New Zealand.- Considering their size, they are well designed inside and we found the bed comfortable and the kitchen area (especially the larger fridge and sink) handy, especially compared to the cheaper spaceships.The saving grace was Vicky who works remotely. We spoke to her about the issues with the state of the van and she kindly offered us a small partial refund.Had I done this all over again, I’d have gone with a slightly bigger and newer van from another company.

We had a great experience with this company for our two weeks traveling the South Island. We were met by great customer service and the personnel was very helpful and gave quick assistance. We had no problems with our van during our travels and we really liked the comfort of the Beta 2A SC. Highly recommend!

Hassle free service. The vehicle was really good as well. 5 star for price, vehicle and service. Definitely my go to when I am back in NZ

I’m very glad I went with Spaceships for my 2 week solo adventure from Auckland to ChCh. The van was smaller than others I’ve used, but by the end I figured out how to make it work for me. All the people I interacted with from Spaceships were very friendly and my van had no issues.Pro tip: you might not need as many add ons as you think, which is important because storage space is at a premium in there.

Booked a Toyota from these guys online. Very easy to book and pickup out of hours. They have free food and gas from other campers instore. The setup in the car was impressive with gas struts to keep storage open, small fridge and charging points for your phone. USB and power point. Couple of gas cookers which were more then enough for two of us. Storage by the bed to keep water bottles, phones and torches made night time easy.

We rented beta 2s camper van for 9 days, customer service was best but the condition of car was not worth paying $800, as it was old car and not so fuel efficient, only 7km per litre on the highways. Front tyre cover guard pops off on a highway, heater wasn’t working properly.
