Southern Lakes Heliski

POW! Thank you Southern Lakes Heliski for a day of rad! Our trip on 1/8/15 was everything and more than we anticipated. 8 heli-drops of deep untouched pow in bluebird conditions was a dream come true. Quality guiding and thanks to Phil for getting us the goods each run, he's extremely knowledgeable and had the perfect balance of safety with a relaxed fun vibe for our group. Same for pilot Tim and the rest of the crew. From starting the booking process with Monica to the end of day celebratory beers, the crew were a pleasure to deal with and highly informative. Can't recommend it enough! I've been on a powder high since. If you want deep untracked powder, wide open fields into stacked gullies, loaded wind lips to smash and slash, and incredible scenery to take in all around you - go with Southern Lakes Heliski! Cheers guys.

From the booking and organising with Zoe through to the days riding with our guide Tarn (probably spelt that wrong sorry) it was an epic experience! Smoothly run and very professional with a great feed in the middle of the day. Will definately be back for more! Thanks Team!!

Such a fantastic day out with Southern Lakes Heliski. James (guide) and Blair (pilot) were amazing and super safety conscious. For someone who was very nervous about flying they helped ease some of the nerves. Although it was very early in the season we had 6 runs of untouched snow and it was magical. We stopped for a delicious lunch of soup, sausage rolls, gourmet sandwiches and yummy sweets in a little secluded hut surrounded by snow topped mountains. 10/10 day!CAUTION: you may never be able to ski/board resort fields again after this experience!

Had a great day out on Sunday 6/9/15. Blue bird conditions, clean powder and lots of terrain. The operation ran very smoothly. The guides were great- friendly but very efficient and making sure everyone was getting where they needed to go and getting the most out of the mountain.thanks for a great day outOllie

We are only new to Heliski and wrre super excited but nervous! Months before our trip the crew ftom Southern Lakes fielded my barrage of questions and calmed my nerves without even batting an eyelid.Our day started with a scenic shuttle ride through Wanaka to a boat and we were ferried across what could be arguably one of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen! Prior to jumping in the heli, we were safety briefed and handed our beacons probes and packs !It was mid September so we were afforded a beautiful bluebird spring day.Skiing the Minarets was an amazing experience and we highly recommend thos world class operation... i cant wait to stay in their lodge

What a magical day! We were so lucky with the most perfect weather, but what really made it was the awesome care Southern Lakes Heli Ski took to ensure we had an amazing day. As a first time heli skier, Phil (guide) made me feel so relaxed and confident, he really took interest in ensuring we all had a safe and enjoyable time...and I had complete confidence in Liam (pilot) who made exiting and entering the chopper as easy as possible. The lunch was divine and the apres lakeside drinks and nibbles topped off the most epic day. This was a bucket list experience for me, and one I'll never forget for all the right reasons thanks to the professional and fun operation of SLHS - thank you!

Absolutely awesome experience. Our guide (Jam3$) was great and took care of our party and made sure all participants felt comfortable. The views, guides, pilots were all brilliant and the untracked runs inspired us to book again for the very next day. Thanks for a great day!
