If it is raining do not park on the grass or at least know your vehicle well/have a way to get out of the mud. Lovely place though and lovely people! Right next to the kiwi conservation which is awesome (check open times!)

A great spot for a picnic outside Otorohunga Kiwi House and shared lunch with lovely visitors just a pity some people only dump there rubbish near the rubbish bins not in them ! Including desposible nappies

Lovely place to stay. Some long-term stay people there. I think that makes it safe . Is nice and close to town. Would stay again

easy access for any vehicle.Concrete pads on power sites, up to 12m, smallest 5m. Drive on and off with 15m turning circle.Capped power sockets, no worry connecting in a down pour.We have external tanks, so nice connecting on concrete surface.$40 a night for 2 and power. This covered, excellent grounds (perfect, 10/10), clean well equipped kitchen albeit aging (clean crock pots!!), clean perfect laundry (10/10) as needed to iron!!, really warm forceful showers, spotless toilets, aging sinks but power outlets with shaving mirror.Recycle bins and wipes and detergent.Added bonus at night, open the window for kiwi and morepork voices as the boundry is the Kiwi house.Thank you Lions Club, not only for providing these excellent well maintained facilities but also for prompt replies to my inquiry and booking confirmation.

Always love staying at this camp. Location close to town for walking or by vehicle, Dairy close by, also. This is a homely, basic camp; with birdsong galore, from the neighbouring Kiwi House.

Basic camp-fridge, toilet block, showers, communal kitchen. Best part about staying here is you can hear the kiwis squawking at night!!! I had never heard them before so was so happy to hear them for the first time, and every night of my stay.

Quite place hot water, microwave, fridge, stove WC provided amenities are old $15 per night per person. System working with honesty box there was no one around rite behind the Otorohanga Kiwi House best place to camp around.

Small place but had everything we needed. We would have wanted to check out the kiwi bird breeding program next door but time did not work out.

Not the best place to stay unless you're only stopping over night. Everything is bare bones basic and for $15 PER PERSON (not per site) a night it feels a bit underwhelming. The charge for power is also $10 per night on top of that. There are a number of what appear to be long staying residents who seem to be nice enough people. The camp is also used as a parking lot by people going onto the reserve which feels odd.The location is in a good spot right next to the kiwi house which is a a great place to spend and afternoon. It is close to town so if you're stopping in for just an evening it's okay.

We turned up yesterday evening and were allocated a pitch by the long term residents who were really friendly. The pitch was between a van and a caravan with a tent attached. The guy with the van was very friendly. There was no sign of the caravan owner. The owner of the camp park turned up and collected the fees and was happy with our position. This morning we were confronted by the young woman who owned the caravan and tent who wasn't happy with our position. She would not listen to what we had to say about being told to park there by the owner and other residents. What a horrible person. There are 4 adults taking up space of about 4 pitches in a normal camp site. If I was the owner I would kick them out.
