This is one of the best little walks in the area. In the 15 minutes it takes to get to the beach the fauna goes through 3 distinct different climates as it opens out to the coast. Once at the coast you're rewarded with some great viewing areas and can then walk down into the sheltered little bay for a bit of exploring. A very easy walk, with a gentle incline on the way back.

This is a must see, it can be a short walk or a good hour exploring this track. From the large Rimu trees down into the flax covering the hills as you approach the ocean, the dramatic transformation of foliage and terrain is stunning as it opens up in the Tasman sea. Variety of bird species are present as variable as the flora as you descend the short track onto the steps leading towards the lookout areas and down onto the beach.Best to visit at low tide, or lower tide at least, to explore the lower beach area. The waves from the ocean create magnificent crashing sounds as the hit the rock ridges and slide up the crescent beach, do not underestimate them as they will soak you up to the calves if your not vigilant. The most notable for me was the blowhole I noticed, standing on the larger viewing platform just before the stairs go down to the right towards the beach. On that platform looking left at pancake rocks in the distance, with even modest waves there is a noticeable blowhole present 5-10meters away. Loved watching this especially after I felt I missed out seeing a blowhole in action at pancake rocks. One final fascinating observation was of the waterfall, it forms a small stream that flows down the beach to a point where it just vanishes abruptly. Perhaps flowing deeper underneath the beach.

Loved it lots of starfish crabs, and other sorts of Marine life. You can climb up on the rocks, i was feeling like a kid.Recommend checking the tide before you come so you are there at low tide

It is a beautiful scenery. U can walk down towards the beach. Somedays u might have the access to the beach, but unfortunately somedays u might not. As in my case, I had not. But nevertheless, among a range of flora and fauna, u will head to a beautiful beach. On the peer, it gives u a pleasure watching the formations of rocks and there is a very tiny blowhole, if eyes were sharp enough to spot it. Low to medium network coverage is available during the track walk. But at the beach, network coverage is stronger. Yes, u can visit for free. Car park is right opposite the main road.

The simple path is easy to walk, just pay a little attention while strolling. The environment in New Zealand is truly pristine, and even the nearby small beach is free from litter. However, a few mischievous seagulls may try to snatch your food, so be cautious, especially in the dimming light of dusk.

This is short track which goes through rain forest area with enormous high trees, then ending, amazing cliff edged beaches.

Awesome place to stop and take a quick hike thru the brush to get to the beach. Know tide times before heading past the overlook point, ocean swells here can be big. The beach part is very pretty with lots of porous limestone, small waterfall, and even penguin footprints in the sand where they come to hang out.
