Our kitchen renovation with Glen Nilsen Joinery became an incredibly stressful nightmare. Unacceptable behaviour such as shouting, swearing, tool throwing, and door slamming occurred, causing us immense distress. Furthermore, the significant delays had severe financial implications as we had to sell our house later in a declining market, potentially costing us tens of thousands of dollars. Instead of the initially estimated two one-day visits, the project stretched to six visits over two months, leaving behind copious amounts of sawdust that I had to clean, and forcing me to take numerous additional days off work. Additionally, errors were made, such as the pantry having incorrect dimensions by 150mm, and the drawer runner brand being changed without our knowledge etc.To provide some balance, there were a few positive aspects to mention. The squeaky drawer runners were eventually replaced in response to our complaints, and an agreement was reached to source cabinet materials from a different supplier to mitigate further delays, with the cost difference being shared equally. I also received a refund for the increased benchtop cost caused by the excessive offset in cabinet installation. These factors prevent me from giving a one-star review.I understand that Covid brought a lot of challenges to small businesses but slamming the door in your clients' face, swearing and throwing tools around your clients' house is something I never expected to experience and I don't wish anyone to go through what we had to.
