Jolly Bikes could not have been any better. We had the pleasure of dealing with the owner, Matthias, over our Anzac Weekend bike trip and the service and hospitality were top level. Any minor problem was taken care of with speed and graciousness. Hannah also deserves a mention for her helpfulness and friendliness. Highly recommend this bike company.

Stopped at Jolly Bikes in Thames, asked if they would put a few drops of oil on our two bikes' chains. Two squirts from an aerosol can, which we had to administer ourselves, were charged at $5 per bike. This was the directive from the boss, and it was evident that the two staff members were embarrassed by his greed. A quick Google search showed a whole can (see photo) retailed for only $18. Jolly Bikes, jolly expensive - stay away.

First time cycling overseas, great experiences with the ride and really helpful and patient staff. Cycled to Cheese Barn and back again, total 24km. Route is straightforward with great views of the animals, greenland along the way. It rained at some points, be well prepared with raincoats and waterproof jackets.

Had some issues with my bike during my trip.When I got at the shop near closing time I still got great service and advice. Picked up the bike the next day with a new wheel, new tyres and tuned brakes.

Awesome service. We hired a kids bike trailer and they went above and beyond to ensure it would work on our bikes as well as sorted pick up of the trailer at the end of our ride. Very well priced too. Thanks!

The bike shop itself is fine, very friendly staff and they have some great bikes, but the service was not impressive. We took a bike in to address two little issues and went ahead and got a regular service also. After about a week they called and said it was ready but when I went and picked it up and rode the bike, neither of the two issues were fixed. What had I just paid for? The bike had really just been cleaned up and lubed. Had grease all over it!I went back in to discuss (because nothing had been mentioned when I picked it up and paid) but the mechanic was just all talk, which doesn’t fix the issue.I ended up just ordering parts online, watching YouTube, and fixing it myself.I have since heard similar stories from others, yet I think they are really trying to be a good bike shop so I hope they can improve their service department.

Fantastic find in Thames, JollyBikes right beside the “Rail Trail” leading to Paeroa. Both hire bikes & bikes for sale. Very helpful patient staff.
