Top guy, used to bring my Tiguan and my wife's Beetle when we were still in Auckland. Michael knows VDubs by heart. He gives a very detailed diagnosis and quote and gets the job done, no BS. I have yet to find someone like him in Christchurch.

I brought in my VW Golf for a full service. I found Michael to be friendly and honest to deal with. He communicated well - giving me regular updates on where the repair was at. He advised which issues should be addressed now, and which could be deferred to later. I'll be returning to Avanti for my next service.

When my car broke down, Michael shifted his schedule around in order to fit me in as soon as possible. He actually took the time to diagnose which part was causing the problem in my engine, so that I wouldn't have to waste money replacing functioning parts (I've found other mechanics try to replace as many parts as possible in order to make more money). He was honest and transparent every step of the way. Michael also let me choose which parts I wanted to replace depending on how much money I was prepared to invest in my vehicle. I found that he tried to fix my problem as cheaply as possible and puts the well-being of the customer before his own need to make a profit. Michael is a very capable mechanic that charges a reasonable price. I would recommend Michael, and Avanti Auto Services to anyone.
