Used them recently to try and fix the oven. However was informed i was better off just getting a new one considering cost of repairs. Technician helped advise regarding purchase of new one and came back and put it in. Really happy with the professional service I got.

These guys were very rude when I initially rang, however I accepted a booking for five days later. The technician who came out was friendly and prompt and informed me I needed a part which would take 3 to 5 days.After 8 days they called and would be able to come in 5 days to fit the part. So now a total of 18 days, my dishwasher now smells terrible, they told me to use a towel to remove the water.I was told the part would cost $180 + GST labour, and call out. I googled and found the same genuine part for $59 and could be delivered within two days. I cancelled my appointment with Appliance Guy after 13 days of waiting. They admitted to marking up their parts and said it was necessary (which is acceptable for any company but 3x the price?) they claimed they couldn't source the parts as cheap as i could. I offered to buy the part for what i sourced it for (since they had specially ordered it) and they declined. They offered no apology and were rather rude. However, I have saved myself their quoted price which would have been over $400 incl Gst, minus the pump I purchased and fitted myself, however this did not fix the problem as he had said it would. It all turned out to be a small hole in the drain hose that stopped the air trap working. Considering I told him it was leaking and he said it was the drain pump and didn't even check the hose, im glad I did.

Excellent company, great staff and really good service. Have needed help several times with different appliances. Highly recommend them.

Disappointed service. I rang and told them what was wrong with the oven door and what was required. Someone turned up and said I'll let you know the price. Never heard back but arrived back to a $126.50 bill for call out, to turn up and do nothing. They also finally quoted in the bill over $400 to fix the hinge...cheaper to fix it myself.

Used Appliance Guy for the first time after being recommended them by another good company in ChCh. The Service repair guy fixed our front loader which needed a new pump and he also noticed a blockage in a small drain hose while doing the repairs so we were thrilled about that as we could of been faced with more problems/more costs at a later date. He was very professional and definitely knew his job well. He also advised us about our new Heat-pump dryer and the correct way of cleaning it so we are not faced with future problems. We had difficulties with our last Washer repair guy so am pleased that we have found this company and will from now on continue to use Appliance Guy.

The Technician was given the wrong address by the office and was 20 min late. I was later booked for labour after being told there was only a call out fee Of $98.90. I was quoted over $1500.00 for my door switch to be fixed. Today my son arrived who is a furniture manufacturer by trade and had it going again in less than half an hour.Apart from the rudeness I encountered from the office this is surely a poor performance. I am an 81 year old female. Is this normal service for us?It is more than a week and up til today not one person from the company has phoned to apologize even though I sent letters to Accounts and the Office.

Quick assessment and did not over sell. Kept me up to date from first visit to final repair. Great customer service.

Another disappointing experience. I should have looked at these reviews first. Our experience was similar to what others have said. Appliance Guy came and provided us a quote of replacement of 60cm ceramic cooktop. The quote of the cooktop itself is already 17% more expensive than retail price, and there is freight + call out fee + installation charge. So we have decided not to go ahead. After that, we received an invoice of not proceeding with the quote, which is $149.5 !! I contacted them and said I agreed to pay the labour fee of $40 for time they spent for the quote but they declined. They said they need to charge $40+$90 for call out + GST = $149.5. What a rip off. I think it is not a good way of doing business. Will not recommend them to anyone.

The door on my washing machine needed repair. Service man stood at door for less than 2 minutes, stating he would source a part and get back to me. Heard nothing. 2 weeks later received invoice for $98.90 , with small note saying part not available. I understand a call fee but considering i live 5 minutes from the business!!!! Will be finding a different repair place, that was an absolute rip off!

I'm very happy with the service I've received from this company. The repairman that came was very knowledgeable, tried a very simple fix which turned out perfectly and saved me quite a bit of money. He also followed up a few days later to check.on how things were going. I would have no hesitation in using them again or recommending them to others.
