Hayami Japanese restaurant
Absolutely amazing, great service, waitress staff bloody fantastic, FOH lady was awesome makes you feel welcome as soon as you open the door.My partner doesn't like to eat seafood but she decided to try the prawns here and now she doesn't shut up how good it was.The food was some of the best Japanese food I've had in Auckland. Prices quite well and portion size was just right.Definitely will be going back and recommending this place to others often.

I’d really like to give this restaurant 5 stars because their food is absolutely delicious, I love their extensive menu and they are soo friendly! But I came here on a Saturday night at around 8:45pm and they said sorry we’re closed now and they were ready to walk out the door, when their hours say they close at 9:30pm, it was just a let down as we had made the trip from Albany deciding this Japanese restaurant was the better option than the one down there, and ended up missing out on both. Another time I called on a Thursday night at 7pm asking to place a takeaway order and they said sorry we’re only doing dine in. Just annoying experiences with this restaurant unfortunately, although I have dined in on two occasions and it was great.

It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t amazing either. The chilli chicken was good well cooked. Sushi wasn’t mouthwatering fresh.The gyoza was a little overcooked.The soy beans were a little old and rubbery.Beware the water glass as it’s super light

This was the first time we had tried Hayami and it did not disappoint the meal was delicious and was plenty to fill us up. The miso soup was extra tasty and I've been known to leave that for others. So all in all an amazing meal and great attentive service.

my family and i have been coming here for years and years now, hayami is always the most welcoming place, with lovely staff and incredible food! the sauce they put on the salads cant be beat! it’s amazing and we buy a pot to take home each time we go!

Service was fine and promt, food was tasty...however I was so embarrassed by the couple of strands of seaweed salad they served. It would have been better left off the plate. The sushi was fine, very thinly cut and wasn’t served with ginger or wasabi. The scotch fillet was the saving grace and nicely cooked, served with a delicious sauce on top. The $36 price tag did not justify the meal at all!! The rice bowl wasn’t even filled to the top , they also do serve you a SMALL salad before the meal. Nothing worth photographing. The high price and lack there of meal has me astounded. Will not be retuning or recommending. Asahi Japanese in bakehouse lane Orewa is a far better restaurant featuring lower prices and greater portion size.

Rarely dine out, but wanting to support the restaurants. We had Teriyaki seafood, frozen hoki fish, very dry…tiny salad portion…disappointed.

The best Japanese restaurant I’ve eaten at.The staff were very friendly.Impeccable service.Great Covid safety standards.Food was amazing.Pricing and portion size is on point.I will definitely be coming back here again soon!
