The Tikipunga Tavern

Went to Tiki Tavern with some friends. Was an awesume evening with an in house DJ playing and Karaoke if your into having a Waiata. A mix of modern and nostalgic songs. We played a couple of games of Pool between ourselves and with other patrons. And enjoyed some pub meals with a couple of Speights on tap.

Staff were awesome and did what they could. Catered food not so great. Room was really hot and stuffy. Everyone practically stayed outside. To be honest we wouldnt book another room hire here.

Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Really lovely spot to enjoy a cold beer. The food was totally amazing.

Went to watch Rugby an have a meal, but found out no food available for customers, an cheif was to busy with private function, we went somewhere else, staff were great though

Lovely staff, nice big venue!Green room upstairs needs an overhaul. It has a very musty old smell coming from the carpets.

July 15th went here for a birthday dinner. Group of 10. They restaurant was pretty much empty all through the time. The starters came in 1.5 hours after the order. Every ones main meals came at different times. My order was for a stir fired noodles, which came to the table when others where placing their dessert order. No apology or heads up that its going to be late.

Went here to watch a band, bar staff were lovely, but was totally disgusted in the way they were kicking intoxicated people out the door. Felt they were aggravating people and treated them unfairly, which resulted in there front door being smashed, being a witness, i must say a reaction like that was expected sooner or later. Then police needed to be contacted, all could have been avoided if staff treated her/others respectfully, calmly and profesionally, instead the women (maybe manager) whoClearly was directing staff, seemed to be on a power trip and was instructing staff to act in this manner. She wasnt aware of legal responsibilities as you'd expect. Most people there were intoxicated, but it seemed she chose whoever to kick out (probley to satisfy her own bordem), they didn't seem to be stumbling or slurring, or causing any trouble. Staff gave no alternative like most places e.g. like drink water for 20mins and go back in, nor allowing friends to come and talk to ones outside, leaving women stranded in a high rape/crime area. Very sadNever had been there before never would go there again
