Plymouth International

This hotel was an amazing stay, located in the CBD of New plymouth. thoroughly enjoyed our stay with the family here, highly recommend. On the third night we went down to the restaurant to celebrate my sisters birthday! The service was impeccable, our table was taken care of by a lovely waitress named greir, she did an absolutely amazing job and made my families experience in the restaurant absolutely amazing! The food and drinks were also at standard with the amazing waitress! Definitely recommend staying here!

We had such a lovely stay & paid for a newly refurbishment unit & it was lovely. We loved the pool & courtyard and dinner at the restaurant was just perfect.It is clear that they are painting & refurbishing units, its quite unfair to write a bad review if you pay for a cheap unit and find its not brand new, however cleanliness is so important whatever the age of the unit.

After a horrible night at another motel we decided to get a refund and find somewhere else. Michelle the lovely young lady that my partner spoke to was so accommodating and understanding. We were impressed with the rooms as they are dog friendly so didn’t expect such a tidy comfortable one, when we arrived through the front foyer all the staff that were there were so welcoming and they just loved our dog, they have a pool and gym that guests can use and a restaurant which does room service. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

My wife and I stayed here March 2023 As I'm a Amputee we required a Disability Room, it was a pleasure staying at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in New Plymouth.All the staff were great and experienced, dinning was a great pleasure, room clean and tidy in fact I can not fault this hotel.The General Manager and his wife (Darrin and Anna) we did not get to meet, but thank you both for your hospitality.Kind regardsGraeme & Diana Anderson

Room was well sized. Reception were very friendly, Michelle (?) even remembered my name from the phone booking the day prior.Nice to be able to hav a workout (no elliptical trainer?), a swim in a heated pool, & a 5min soak in the spa before facing the world. O, & the sunrise was a bonus.It’s not new, but everything else is up to where it should be. Thank you Plymouth International.

Awesome stay, only thing that faulted our room was the carpet under the beds looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a while (dusty & pillow feathers). Also the black blankets at the end of the bed had a couple food marks (didn’t look to have been washed), other than that our stay was wonderful, reception was very lovely as well as the restaurant.

This hotel hits all the right spots for a stay in New Plymouth. The ONLY thing I would say that needs room for improvement is having an 'eye for detail'. Some tiles around the pool need replacing, the pool grate is absolutely rusty also smudges on the walls and in the lifts. It's these little things that can make a huge difference in a person's perception. Look I loved my stay and I will go back (this is my second stay). It's about staff being proactive to make the environment they work in better. I was the night manager at the old Regent hotel so I speak with expertise.

The hotel itself isn't too bad. It needs a little bit more care put into it, this was especially evident in the room I was placed in. There were a few holes in the walls, signs of water damage around the base of the walls, and the ceiling fan was absolutely caked in dust. I was afraid to turn it on in case it threw a cloud of dust over me. When using the open shower, I attempted to dry the floor with the bath mat and found that the bath mat had dipped into the draining channel where the shower water drained. The mat came up smeared with black gunk. Also, not sure what the issue was here, but the air con smelt like fish...Unsure if this was just an issue with the specific room I was staying in, but it was unfortunate.The hotel itself seems decent, and the staff were really nice and helpful. They have a great deal on their breakfast buffet, I really enjoyed that. So not a bad place to stay, I just wish they took better care of their rooms.

I stayed for two nights over Easter April 2023. The room was excellent overlooking the pool, large bathroom, newish carpet, sunny. Nicely painted, modern, clean, tidy. Very comfortable bed. What you would expect for the price. $159 a night. Get this room! Recommend. Looking forward to staying again.

RACIAL DISCRIMINATION is alive and well at the Plymouth International. My family and I have just spent the last few nights at the Plymouth International and everything was fine until our dinner last night.
