Waka Puna - Paddle and Pedal

Ok we got the cycle/kayak package, we cycled the first afternoon and kayaked the next day. The cycle to Fox River gave us amazing views their and back and the hills no problem with the Ebike. Then the kayaks the next day blew us away. Amazing do both. Be prepared to portage the kayaks at the end that was half the fun and the relaxing views on the river were stunning. DION from WakaPuna is brilliant, great advice, great info, all gear supplied. We wil be back.

I haven't been on a bike in 15 years and I was so unsure but Dion helped me have the time of my life. The bikes helped me decide, big tyres lovely big seats and a motor. We peddled to Fox river, with spectacular views and very little traffic it is a real confidence booster.I would recommend it to anyone and even the hills are manageable because the bike assists by doing a lot of the hard work. You still have to pedal and put in a lot of effort but even the less fit will manage. We got the package of bike and kayak. So next morning we kayak the river. Another great experience.Dion was awesome, treated me with respect and made me believe in myself.All I can say is 'go for it', you won't regret it.

We can warmly recommend waka puna. You can paddle up and down the river for up to 2.5 hours on your own. In between there are a few bathing stops. Breathtaking scenery. The owner is very nice and friendly.

These guys wre easy to work with, fast, great insructions and overview of the Pororari River. An unbeleiveable yak track, huge escarpemnts to both sides, fish, swimming holes, and pretty easy paddling. More experienced paddlers can go further up-stream, all well descibed by the guys running the place. A spectacular morning for us.

Possibly the best value water activity in the country! Amazing experience for the whole family, Will be doing it again this summer! Bargin pricing and awesome staff such an awesome place!

Incredible experience. Everything I had hoped for. Punakaiki River is amazing as you see wildlife (birds, fish) and so many different rock formations. Cliff backdrop is spectacular. You have to carry the kayak up stream which might be challenging for someone not fit.Prices are fair and reasonable. Ken is a fair and helpful, providing all the gear you need including wet suit, shoes, sunglasses wire, dry bags, all of it!Thanks Ken!

This was an amazing experience! The friendliness and professionalism getting us ready for the trip was great. The trip up river was just fantastic. If you are looking for a couple hours of fun and amazing scenery, go to Punakaiki Canoes and do it before you go to a Pancake Rocks!
